I have been working at HCR ManorCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

working and building relationships with the residents and their families
    networking with other companies
gaining experience in Skilled Nursing billing and insurance claims

    Cons

    lack of training
    lack of commutation between staff
    lack of organization
lack of compassion in regards to the patients/residents
low moral - staff feel unappreciated and are expected to do the work of several people
annual reviews are never completed on time

As a member of the administration team, you are expected to do admission and customer service work on some nights and weekends. I once had to plunge a toilet that wouldn't flush since maintenance had left for the day. I've had admissions show up without notice.

    Advice to Management

give annual reviews on time, 15 months is how long employees are told to wait but many have waited close to 2 years for an annual review and raise

provide adequate training, showing someone once is not considered proper training

    communicate with your staff

I have been working at HCR ManorCare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I like the benefits ,schedule flexibility, training the opportunities to grow the understanding and the appreciations.

    Cons

I have not been in a position where I have to be in arguments or voting against a Proposal.

    Advice to Management

My advice to my management: I understand all the good benefits you offer to the employees, but if you can work a little bit on the salary that will keep our good employees to come to work on time always report to work everyday. And they don't have to work for another employer so when they come to our facility they not tired, and will have more energy to work with our residents.

I worked at HCR ManorCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Close to home, able to walk to work, patients are great and if you are a genuine nurse they come first.

    Cons

Very cliquey, other nurse care about you failing to make themselves look good. Not team players. Asking for help or where something is an intrusion.

    Advice to Management

Take pride in your staff and they will take pride in their work. More team building.

    Pros

Good Coworkers & lovely resident's. Great activities and programs for the resident's. Peaceful work envoirment at times. Executive Director is very nice and caring.

    Cons

Med pass is very heavy and the director does not help. CNA'S are cliquey and only like to help those who they are friends with. They do not have the option dor employees to buy lunch or dinner.

    Advice to Management

Add a nurse for half the shift to help with medication administration and encourage the Director to be more involved.

I have been working at HCR ManorCare full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Everyone is very caring, most of the patients had a hard life n r grateful to be getting help.

    Cons

The communication is poor, the wages are very low, no incentives,, no tuition reimbursement opportunities, good policies exist but stong leadership is not there.

    Advice to Management

Search for the best possible person for the job, give them the tools. Support, n offer educated feed-back. . Then let them do the job they were hired to do. Its obvious that this company only cares about a new hire to put a name a that open space, but without the support, n a company that understands good employees arec the company's strongest assets
