    Pros

Flexible schedule, and I've been lucky enough to be with a great team with great managers-others not so much

    Cons

Micro-managing from the upper levels that unfortunately has to be passed down by regional and area managers, tends to be a little "big brother'ish" with Salesforce.

I have been working at HD Supply full-time

    Pros

Whitecap is a great place to work. The people are all close and work together to resolve issues. The culture is very relaxed and they have a great attitude toward one another. Of course there's the day-to-day work and issues but it's been an overall great experience.

    Cons

-Parking lot is out of space because of all the hiring. (Which is actually a good sign for the company)
-Some managers shouldn't be managing people but maybe themselves. This is few and far between but every bad manager makes a deep impression. (Not bad people, just not good managers)
-Very sales-oriented company meaning that the sales team often gets to run rough-shot over the company which leads to a very hard to standardize strategy. This is for the big-wigs to figure out but it's still important.

    Advice to Management

Standardize the strategies among the sales team, make them change culture or replace them with team players. Many top sales people are not team players and are given everything they want just because some of them inherited strong accounts.

I worked at HD Supply full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people you meet are mostly pretty friendly. The perks are good during the busy season. The pay is below standards. The benefits are decent. Mon - Friday mostly.

    Cons

All the tenured people are leaving or are being replaced. There is no communication from managers. HR can't be trusted due to little followups. Employees do what they want and get away with it. There is a sense of not really having an identity. Outsiders are now in making huge changes without even working in the business. You will work long hours with little to no training and be expected to produce at all cost with little to no reward.

    Advice to Management

None, these guys think they know it all. This will be read by the people interested in the truth and not the ones who play politics. Talk to your people and stop fighting each other.

I have been working at HD Supply full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have decent pay, and the fellow warehouse associates are easy to work with.

    Cons

They lack good management and benefits. Also, management, often times, will not reimburse employees for FSA(job training promotional pay) which they had obtained.

    Advice to Management

Better treatment of associates is a must.

I have been working at HD Supply full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

No weekends, good vacation and personal days off. There is not a lot of PROS to list because of the constant changes that has been going on for the past couple years.

    Cons

High deductible insurance and now they are controlling your weight, waist and BMI. Women must be size 33 inch waist, men 35 inch waist, BMI has to be under 30 or you have to lose 5% of your weight. If you take blood pressure meds be prepared to have Bravo contact you and join a three session mandatory coaching session or you now lose your discount. I have been employed for over 10 years and the Company is all about numbers and not family balance. The D.C. Managers are beyond stressed and fear losing their jobs. The Company also quit donating to our HSA stating they need to save the 4 million dollars this year and they will re-evaluate the situation next year. Bonus stopped for about two years and now they come back pennies on the dollar.

    Advice to Management

Way too many driving the bus at Corporate that have never worked in a warehouse. Step a day in our shoes for 10, 12 or more hours and see how hard your associates are working!
