I have been working at HDL full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible schedules, great benefits (most are company paid), a very relaxed atmosphere, open communication even up to the higher-ups. The company is constantly growing and expanding, but make sure not to make employees feel like a number.

    Cons

Being a fairly new company, a lot of practices are not in full swing yet. Procedures are constantly being updated, which makes it hard to keep up sometimes with what is new each week.

    Advice to Management

None. Management here is what is normal at most companies. There is always a bad seed in the bunch, but that comes with hiring of different people.

I worked at HDL full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Smart people, good culture, needed a CFO to control spending. Lawyers fees were killing the company. Sad to see the company sold.

    Cons

Wasteful with money, upper management was not qualified to run a large company. They had good intentions but trusted the wrong people.

    Advice to Management

Hire an experienced CEO and CFO, let Joe run the lab. Stop using expensive consultants and letting the lawyers run the company.

    I worked at HDL full-time

    Pros

-innovative, forward thinking, and pushing-the-boundaries culture
-explosive growth and constant change unto new and better, from 12 employees in 2008 to over 800 in 2014
-expanded into the corporate wellness sector
-passion-driven executive team committed to changing lives and improving the health care system above numbers and the status-quo
-extremely empowering managers always ready to develop and help employees grow
-settlement with DOJ claiming innocence (public knowledge)
    -impressive Richmond philanthropy

    Cons

-chapter 11 bankruptcy unto acquisition by True Health Diagnostics (public knowledge)
-HDL, Inc. and all associated branding has been discontinued

    Advice to Management

Never give up on your passion to change the way health care is practiced and delivered in the US. Your dedication to disease prevention is inspiring. The way you prioritize patient-care above all else is unprecedented. You've ruined me for the ordinary. My career standard for the future has been set extremely high.

I have been working at HDL full-time

    Pros

This company does an incredible job developing their employees. I lot of time and effort is spent by our supervisors to make sure you are learning and growing well. You are encouraged to try new things and share innovative ideas which are rewarded constantly.

    Cons

Can be a discouraging place to work if you aren't an ideator or good communicator. You will see your fellow employees be promoted for their accomplishments if they are better at coming up with new ideas and befriending the right people.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!
