I have been working at HERE Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exciting company with an exciting vision.... Almost like working at a startup venture. HERE is quickly positioning to be the reality index for the world, an has brought in a new highly qualified and highly energetic sales mgmt team with their focus on the Customer. Huge strides have been made in just a few months during our transformation. My customer satisfaction is at an all time high and my customers have expressed how impressive HERE is. Our corporate culture is extremely postitive with a "win together" approach. Last but not least, the most valuable asset HERE has is its unending wealth of brilliant people.

    Cons

Transformation blessing and curse. Just like any technology company things move fast and even faster when you are in the midst of transformation.

    Advice to Management

Keep going you are doing great!

I have been working at HERE Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been an engineer at HERE for about a year now, and have loved my experiences here -- learned a ton of AWS, front end engineering, getting in the weeds with jenkins, etc...

Also have enjoyed the people here. Very intelligent, easy to get along with group who seeks to nurture new talent.

    Cons

A lack of product management at the company has led to engineers taking on a wider role to fill those responsibilities. Would be nice to have more PM's to clearly define a vision, drive building so that engineers have more freed up time to simply develop.

    Advice to Management

Hire more PM's! Otherwise, great job.

I have been working at HERE Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company strategy is much clearer than it was 2-3 years ago, but still not clear enough. A lot of benefits were removed, some not much better ones added.

    Cons

They cut in half 401k, which was the best part of the benefits and stole away our PTO, moving it to DTO. The problem is every manager and lead in US office tries to show his powers. They don't like answering emails, don't care about feedback, they do care about leaving in their own built bubble. Unfortunately, nobody cares about it. A lot of really good employees has left the company, as they don't pay so good as others. I can tell you that because I'm an Engineering Manager by myself and getting an increase is almost impossible (besides regular 3%).

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employers more, listen to managers less. They are lying to you. Or you just don't care about your employees. Numbers are not the first thing to look at, people are.

I have been working at HERE Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Groundbreaking projects, well-established customers, best in industry at location content. Bright coworkers, good work-life balance, nice physical working environment, reasonable benefits & salary.

    Cons

Management by cost containment by people who don't understand industry due to limited experience. Inexplicable, even contradictory decisions by leadership never get explained. Even good decisions don't. Most decisions are presented as accept it or get out. They request input and then go on to ignore it, so it seems to be mostly window-dressing. The talk is much better than the walk with the current management team. Culture was once exceptional, now muddied by unclear responsibilities and future direction.

    Advice to Management

Not sure you're listening, but: Explain the rationale for decisions, not the one you thought sounds good, the real one. When you ask for input, don't rationalize why it has nothing to do with anything you did when in fact it does and we want you to act on it, not talk about it. Stop making ridiculous changes on short notice and assess the impact of your decisions on the people who work there in advance. You have little credibility, time is running out to start working on it if you want to retain good people. Get a decent IM/meeting client, yours is a disaster and it's costing you.
