    I worked at HERE Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company is advancing into some exciting new technologies. The brand is connected to major automotive players. Not demanding work hours.

    Cons

    Many information silos. Lacks of top talent. Tasks are simply dropped on people. Culture of mistrust. Others will take credit for work you've done.

    Advice to Management

    Management is attempting to rebuild the brand. However, they have also done lots of consolidation and terminations. This creates a lot of mistrust.

    Pros

    Cons

    As much as there were plans to lead the Cloud Solutions location space, still getting disrupted by other more nimble companies

    Advice to Management

    Watch out for all of the AI startups about to disrupt the space as well as Tesla , Cruise, and others

    I have been working at HERE Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    NONE - In less than 5 years at HERE, I've been under the guidance of 4 CEOS, 3 Line Managers . Well, there maybe one pro - the folks are nice at the company.

    Cons

    Be Bold: Indeed they were:
         * Layoffs seem to be a monthly thing now
         * Office / DC closings
         * Vehemently opposed by the employees, LT is still pushing forward on:
                      * Open Floor Seating
                      * WebEx and Spark due to the good'ol boy LT hook-up. This system has
                         so many problems a whole HERE team was put together to
                         troubleshoot the errors. Nice that we have time to be the "testers" for
                        Cisco probably free of charge. NO ONE likes this system.

    Be True:
         * if you want to be 1st class then lead as 1st class
         * listen to your employees
         * what is the end game as far as investors hoping on board.. Is it unlimited? So
              far we are owned by automobile manufacturers, chip makes, and Chinese
              companies. What is the plan.. aww thats right.. you don't know it.

    Give Back: I thought this was Give Back not Take away
          * Imagine if the employees gave back the way the LT team does:
                 * Bonuses reduced 50% this year
                 * 401K contribution reduced 50% this year
                 * Just converted to a DTO (Discretionary Time Off) system that has to be
                     agreed with your line manager how much time off you will have off in the
                     year.
          *I'm fairly confident that the LT incompetency will continue to manifest and
            there will be more cuts in the future

    Learn Fast:
         * LT knee jerk reactions lead to some very very inadequate decisions and
             groups being formed.
          * Seems like no one gets any traction with regards to "all the changes" being
             made, mostly because there are TOO MANY changes from an organizational
             perspective and offerings. Where is the Roadmap? Where is the 6mo, 1 yr,
             3yr + strategy. If you have it, why isn't it shared?
         * The teams are so disconnected, extremely silo'd.
         * When the CEO early on claimed to have brought women executives on board
              he was asked to name them. Apparently he couldn't name them because
              believe it or not he included his admin in the list of 5. Maybe I've been on
              the wrong career path altogether, executive team = admin.. where do I apply.

    Win Together:
         * Big new LT headquarters being built out in the Netherlands that does NOT
            adopt the open floor spacing we are forced to live with.
         * Only LT's will reside there - ZERO technology. Nice how they set themselves
             up.
         * Hardly a promotion in this company - very flat
         * No career path, just tossed into fire fighting mode all the time
         * HR has deceitful "bait and switch" practices. Title changes different than
            offer letters - this has happened to many

    Advice to Management

    Win Together:
         * Stop the knee jerk reactions - Look in the mirror LT Team as you're the reason
            we remain in Turmoil and are less productive. Buck stops with the LT team.
         * Rethink your messaging strategy - instead of videos where <200 people
            watch it -- there's a reason for that.... think of a different approach
         * STOP all the mandatory communication methods, email, Yammer, Spark,
             videos. Not necessary, consumes too much of our time and its not effective!
         * Communicate using an appropriate communication method. I can tell you
              Yammer doesn't cut it - often times folks are NOT subscribed to the room
              and miss the communique buried in some Yammer post.
         * Reinstate 1st class benefits for HERE's 1st class employees.
         * Figure out what the heck you're doing before churning the masses which
             leads to less productivity.
         * STOP bringing on the good'ol boy network - shame shame on you in the year
            2017 to be so closed minded.
         * Provide viable career paths.

    "Today it has become even worse for US employees, than it was even just yesterday"

    I have been working at HERE Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    it is becoming very difficult to find any perspective Pros now. They have cut the 401K match way below industry standard two months ago; They work on the open office space to start in January 2018 to make hell of working for people; They introduced Cisco collaboration tools that are very harmful and difficult to work with.

    Cons

    If above is not enough, they just introduced the policy that eliminates vacation for all US based workers. They called it take it any time your manager let's you. Meaning that while the all over the world people will enjoy their well deserved vacations, the US workers will have to beg managers to let them to get a vacation.

    Advice to Management

    Read above and find more "brilliant" ways how to harm your employees.

    Pros

    Good work life balance. Benefits are OK. 401K matching was cut in half recently. Vacation package above average. Immediate team members were great.

    Cons

    Layoffs seem to have become a yearly thing. Management has become very detached and doesn't seem to have found a direction for the company yet. HR is useless and you can only submit a ticket about a issue, can't actually talk to a person. Lower than average pay.

    Advice to Management

    Pick a strategy. Layoffs aren't a good way to " shake things up". Cutting benefits is only going to lead to more talent leaving.

    Great colleagues

    Cons

    Current management does not seem trustworthy and has an "old boys network" feel.
    Sending many jobs overseas.

    Advice to Management

    Value the employees you have.
