I have been working at HJ Baker and Brother full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great compensation if you are in sales or salaried management positions.

    Cons

Mass exodus of long term employees has been occurring for the past three years or further purging of experienced employees has occurred. Executive level employees are the classical dominant egocentric leaders completely decoupled from ground level reality. The company is extremely silo'd in regards to departments having the 'us vs them' attitude even though the culture is promoted as collaborative.

    Advice to Management

If you are a change agent, then this is not the company for you because the financial backing will not be adequate.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at HJ Baker and Brother full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers and industry. Pay is good for management. Benefits were very expensive and not that great (Might as well utilize COBRA). Company name has great respect in the industry but losing it's focus on what made them great (Harding working and loyal employees).

    Cons

    - Poor executive management
    - Indecisive managers
    - No direction or support
    - No resources available for changes.
    - Unstable work situation
    - Office Politics and power struggle among C-Suites at it's finest.
    - Poor communication
    - Top down approach decision making/strategy

    Advice to Management

Instead of cleaning house of lower level workers and management a clearing of upper management that have zero knowledge of the organization and the industry nor how to lead it.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at HJ Baker and Brother full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have fairly good benefits for hourly employees.
    Good working hours.
I need to have at least 20 words for the pros section, and have nothing else to say.

    Cons

    Micromanagement overload
    Horrible communication
Company has more management, sales, and corporate people than actual workers.
Hardly any room for advancement and raises for hourly employees.
