I worked at HNTB as an intern

    Pros

Senior management group willing to share their networks. As an intern, it was a good place to start learning project management and engineering consultancy.

    Cons

HNTB only focused on U.S. infrastructure projects and the company don't have a broad infrastructure profiles in their portfolio. They don't do water infrastructure and only do 1-2 PPP deals in the past.

    Advice to Management

Can consider doing more PPP deals in the future

I worked at HNTB full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay. Lots of training. Good benefits. Awesome company stock. Good people to work with. I enjoyed my time with HNTB and would be happy to go back under the right circumstances/location.

    Cons

This is a money driven company that is obsessed with profits. This is great for the company stock value, but the constant focus on profits can become overwhelming to the point that you feel you can not take vacation because it will reduce profits.

    Advice to Management

Remember your most valuable asset is the employee, and to treat them as such.

The company must keep their office leader as long as possible.

    Pros

Some of the best pay in the industry. Great learning for people who are looking to learn. High expectations. Generally, co-workers are enjoyable and professional.

    Cons

Senior management is very conservative, seems somewhat short-sighted, consistently selects homogenous personnel for high-level roles, and rewards sales over delivery.

    Advice to Management

Connect with staff levels. Put more thought into the annual raise process and how performance can be recognized. Find more creative and fair ways to reward project performance.

I worked at HNTB as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay, was not expected to do anything I could not handle. The people in the office were great. Would intern there again.
