    Pros

    Cons

Set up with individual divisions, so silos can exist. Smaller organization so not as many career opportunities.

I have been working at HOOPP full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Salary and benefits, work life balance is decent.

    Cons

"Clapping seal culture," where if you don't clap like a seal every time the "leadership team" talks about their great ideas for the company, you will be labelled an outsider, not a team player, and ostracized by the very same "leadership" team and its brownnosers

I have been working at HOOPP full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Most of the people are nice and there are some very knowledgeable people. Benefits and work life balance are great.

    Cons

New management structure has led to chaos. Promotions are being given out on how good you get along with the deciding committee. Technology is being forcefully changed and made more complicated for unnecessary reasons. Change is good, but it’s being rushed and causing chaos among staff. If you were to put out a truly anonymous survey you’d find how unhappy people are. People are working in fear now.

I worked at HOOPP full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent compensation and benefits, great work-life balance.

    Cons

Horrible corporate culture, where only sycophancy is rewarded. Anybody who dares to speak their mind is quickly terminated, or ostracized by their peers. Company spends tons of money on external consultants who, upon realizing that HOOPP is a cash cow, tend to stick around for years and years. Many of those external consultants get hired as VP's. Incompetent leadership who keep asking for employee's opinions and then blatantly ignore it.

I have been working at HOOPP full-time

    Pros

-Reputation that comes with long-standing record of delivering for members -Despite organization's record, still a lot of humility among most employees -Excellent and very competitive pay, benefits and work-life balance

    Cons

-So good for so long, can sometimes be challenging to argue for improvements (if it ain't broke, don't fix it), but always room for improvements

I worked at HOOPP full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Amazing people, family-like environment, well-paid, fantastic pension and benefits. Great work-life balance if you report to the right person.

    Cons

Many layers of Management, most of whom seem to realize they are very well-paid so no one wants to rock the boat. One Sr. Vice President even advised staff not to bring any problems up in regular meetings with the CEO.

    "HR"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at HOOPP full-time

    Pros

compensation, benefits, work life balance and some people

    Cons

I guess the only way to becoming a VP of HR is to make sure you aren't the director of HR first.
