I have been working at HORNE LLP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Horne is innovative, collaborative, inclusive and actively looks for ways to reward and promote dedicated team members.

    Cons

The only cons are present for those that aren't driven and willing to take advantage of the tools and support provided for individuals to reach their full potential and be in charge of their career.

    Advice to Management

Keep looking for talent within the organization and work to develop staff, motivate them and show them appreciation for their efforts.

I have been working at HORNE LLP (More than a year)

    Pros

They emphasize the importance of work-life balance, and provide the flexibility to achieve that balance.
    Their dress code includes jeans.

    Cons

Their 401k plan could be better. They don't automatically match your contribution (it's at their discretion).
They push employees to go to social events in an attempt to improve company culture. If you're not the outgoing type, these events can feel very uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

Remember to treat your employees like people and not commodities.

I have been working at HORNE LLP full-time

    Pros

    - A lot of opportunities for professional development
    - Great culture
    - Visionary leaders
    - Ability to travel

    Cons

    - Low pay
    - Too religious of a Firm

    Advice to Management

Make pay more uniform for each level of seniority. There are people at the same level, say Supervisor, making almost 20-30K difference in the same area with the same skillsets.

I worked at HORNE LLP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, good leadership, strong ethical values, great people. Ridgeland office is a great office to work from. There are opportunities to work from home.

    Cons

Depending on what service line you are in there can be a lot of travel. Tax doesn't travel but audit and governmental services can travel a lot. That may be ideal for some but if you are a family oriented person it is not ideal. The yearly evaluation process can be burdensome. Some take it serious, some don't. Be prepared to have to spend hours evaluating yourself and sitting in meetings hearing others evaluate you as well.

    Advice to Management

I appreciate the way the top management leads the firm. CEO and directors of service lines are great people.

    Pros

Great firm culture, management is open to balancing commitments outside of work. Firm shows commitment to continually providing and receiving feedback.

    Cons

Firmwide values do not always trickle down from the top all the way to staff.

    Advice to Management

Integrate more feedback, though the initiative is great, responding or taking action to it resonates with teams and eventually demonstrates collective team value regardless of role.
