Nothing comes to mind at this time.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to put employees first.

I have been working at HP Hood (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay, medical insurance, and benefits. Most people are willing to work with you as a team. Clean factory environment.

    Cons

People in Management don't know how to lead a team. They are only focused on their own work and have no time to supervise their subordinates or play fair. Being overwhelmed is their fault for inexperience and ineffectiveness. Total lack of guidance in a sink or swim environment. Forget about a 40-hour week. This is a 24/7/365 operation. They own you.

    Advice to Management

Hire the right person for the job. Don't take advantage and play with people's lives. Being jerked around is so unprofessional. You're getting a bad reputation in the local area.

    Pros

    Pay and benefits are good.

    Cons

Bad work/life balance, incompetent senior and middle management.

    Advice to Management

More holidays off, make atmosphere more enjoyable for people to want to stay in their jobs..rather then just being there for the money.

    Pros

Benefits and pay. The people around are nice.

    Cons

Management is very, very poor. Horrible place to work at. Negative environment. Fear of getting written up for the simplest tasks. Shady business. Low morals and ethics. Management is very hypocritical, so you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. No weekends off. You're weekend is a random two day period in the middle of the week. If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. HP Hood....more like "HP Hell."

    Advice to Management

Take a course in management and listen to your employees. Just fire all the management and start over.

I worked at HP Hood full-time

    Pros

    Pay and the co workers

    Cons

    Favoritism
    Management
Felt stuck in a position that I could not move up a later
Was told by management if I didn't like where I would be stuck then to walk away or use a fuel to find another job was another supervisors words of wisdom.
Management made jokes in front of other employees not professional atmosphere , camera in changing room should be taken out, they should not have a right to have a camera in locker room .

I worked at HP Hood full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Nice coworkers.
    That's about the only 'pro'
It used to be a fun place to work but that has changed with new management.

    Cons

Micro-managing, unfair and unreasonable distribution of work between day and night shift, mandatory OT, work holidays, no chance for any semblance of a personal life

    Advice to Management

High level manager needs to LOOK at what the middle manager is doing.
Micromanaging your employees will not have your desired effect but it WILL make us resent you and become dissatisfied with our work environment.
STOP forcing us in on holidays while you stay home.
Stop retaliating in subtle ways when we express our dissatisfaction.
Don't preach "team", then be dismissive of our suggestions.
And finally, consider why so many of us have left -- there is a common problem and it's not us.

I worked at HP Hood full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good Pay and Good Community Atmosphere. Opportunities available for career advancement. Provided me with work experience that I will carry with me later in my career.

    Cons

Long hours and frequent mandatory overtime. There is not a lot of job security given such a high stakes work environment.
