    Pros

Good reward system if you do well. Great gifts for performers during quarterly review. Good guidance and mentor if u have a understanding leader. There are a group of hard liners or top performers who will do anything to please the Chairman and his gangs (the BL & GBL) who can't work elsewhere due to limited knowledge in operational and functional except for in headhunting lines.

    Cons

Like HRnetOne, there is no sustainability in the company. Almost all the master headhunters who received lucrative awards had left the company. Chairman is weird and often come out with nonsense ideas. The GBL or country managers generally have to obey to his military instruction. Don't talk about passion, all he wants is to be richer and get his people to generate the wealth for him. A payroll cost which links to your basic is tied back to your incentive, i.e., your incentive will only be pay upon if you hit 3 times of your payroll cost and after the deduction of your payroll cost, tax, CPF of employer's portion, etc. everything here is about results, don't talk or bother about the industry outlook. There are more like MLM rather than a good corporation.

Good learning place but their definition of loyalty is much questionable

    Pros

Good learning place for individuals who is keen to start a career or build a foundation in headhunting or recruiting. Structured training programs but guidance from immediate superior pretty dependent on which team you are assigned to.

    Cons

    1) Morning workout is compulsory and it does not matter if you are wearing your favorite suit, skinny pants or pencil skirt. 2) Constantly breathing down your neck on the core values. However, the definition of Loyalty is pretty much one way only - the loyalty of the employee to the company is a MUST but their loyalty to you "we pay your salary timely". So working hard does not guarantee appreciation in any form. 3) They loved to offer salary way below your expectations and sometimes below your current; be sure to ask about their incentive structure.

Good company to join if you want to build headhunting career

    Pros

Not the best company to work for but HRnet One is one of the most decent companies to join in headhunting industry. _ Decent basic salary. _ Attractive incentive scheme for good performers. If you just want to do a 9-6 job, you will not earn much here _ Nice and helpful colleagues _ Supportive bosses _ Plenty opportunities to grow and build your specialization. The company will support you if you want to start new specialization once you prove that you are strong and experienced enough _ On the job training - Leaders here spend a lot of time to coach you, especially new consultants _ Office is at Takashimaya. Great working location

    Cons

_ Quarterly sales meeting is on Saturday and attendance is compulsory. Although they always organize this at the 5star hotel with nice lunch provided, it does not compensate that fact that you lose one of your rest day _ Strict timing. You must be at the office before 8.30am everyday. It does not matter how late you work the previous day

    Disappointing...

    Dec 5, 2014 - Consultant in Singapore

    Pros

Fancy work location in Orchard Road

    Cons

    1. The Chairman is God in the company. Likes to spend on fine dining restaurants, expensive hotels for his business trips and company functions (but only when the event involves him). The cost will then be borne by the respective business units affecting their bottom line. 2. Management team play along to every nonsensical idea from the Chairman. They are weak in challenging their superior and lack leadership to create a sustainable work place; leading to high turnover. 3. Taking annual leave (anything more than 2 days in a row) requires some earth-shaking reasons unless your sales numbers are flying. 4. There is no such thing as work-life balance. Work is life and life is work, they said. 5. There is little headhunting skill-sets to be acquired these days since delivery is all about speed in contingent business; resulting in low quality of work. 6. When people leave the company, management do not reflect upon themselves to understand the reasons. They are only concern with how low staff strength may affect sales and profitability and then proceed to hire aggressively to fill the gap.

    Saturated Industry

    Nov 27, 2013 - Consultant in Singapore

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    (1) Good learning opportunities. You can learn a lot about different industries, the nature of the industries, the way they run their business, the value chain, the competition landscape, the career prospective. (2) Good income opportunity if you perform well in the company. (3) One of the best companies in the headhunting industries in terms of treating employees. Although they are very particular about number, there are more humanity than here any other search firms in Singapore I've ever know.

    Cons

    (1) The industry has now become saturated and more competitive. You can run 15-20 assignments at the same time but can only close 2-3. Too many things can happen, making it an unstable business, unlike years ago. (2) The Chairman is weird and usually have time-wasting ideas, initiatives. For example, it is mandatory to come back on Saturday just to discuss about how to be passion at work. After all, these talking session is not helpful at all. Another example is a kind of training workshop, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The whole weekend can be gone without any solid take-home message. There is a habit of him, which is criticizing people (or telling them off) in a demotivating way, while thinking that his word is motivating and you have to be grateful upon receiving it. (3) The company monitor their staff's punctuality with thumb print entry. If you are a few minutes late, you'll recieve emails. I always believe that the nature of this job is flexibilty, and there is no need to monitor employee's timing to that extend, given the fact that the knock-off time will always be after 7pm everyday. (4) There will be a secret eye in the company to report everything to the big bosses. So, everything has to be handled with care. (5) Open and non-cubical concept: Everything you do and say will be seen and heard. Some of the things can come back and stab you if chances arise.
