    Pros

Good organization to grow in. A lot of good professionals. There are the normal politics that are common in the industry.

    Cons

Discretionary bonus. Playing the guessing game on how much you will get paid. Sometimes it doesn't reflect revenue production. All in all, it's not bad.

    Advice to Management

    Reward your top producers

    Cons

There are some opportunities with delivering a message to staff from management. Senior mgmt was nice but front line managers have some opportunity.

I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great compensation for talented individuals! Fast paced, progressive and innovative company. Diversity a plus with female leadership in exec ranks!

    Cons

Huge company, 300k employees, US operation second fiddle to U.K.; most US employees will never see exec leaders of company except through video.

    Advice to Management

Be present more ; loyal talented employees will always be your most important asset

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I like HSBC. Tough but fair place to work.

    Cons

Wish they still had a cafeteria with the reduced coporate meal plan. Wish they had a gym on site in NYC like UK office. Too many money scandals.

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many opportunities overseas if you are willing to move. Benefits and pay are good for a multinational large bank company.

    Cons

Currently they are struggling with their staffing and expenses in a low growth economy. Every few years they seem to want to re invent the company image.

    Advice to Management

Upper management is changing too often which leads to fractured goals to contain expenses. Their job growth plans seem to change yearly.

I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Hands down, the people were the best feature of this job. Everyone with whom I worked was professional and dedicated to the job. The company itself offered competitive salaries with good benefits. Work from home option was nice, as was the flexible schedule and tuition reimbursement perks.

    Cons

While my career advancement was not hindered in any way, it was also not strongly encouraged. By that, I mean that management would not take an active role in propelling you forward. It was left entirely up to you -- which, if you are unaware of opportunities or how your skills could best be utilized, you'd end up missing out on potential career advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Take a more proactive approach to cultivating your employees. It will build a stronger team and lift the expectations and potentials of the individuals.
