    Pros

Enjoyed working with my immediate co workers

Leadership team, need to understand the needs of their employees.

    Advice to Management

To many mixed messages which caused a very dysfunctional environment.

I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Hands down, the people were the best feature of this job. Everyone with whom I worked was professional and dedicated to the job. The company itself offered competitive salaries with good benefits. Work from home option was nice, as was the flexible schedule and tuition reimbursement perks.

    Cons

While my career advancement was not hindered in any way, it was also not strongly encouraged. By that, I mean that management would not take an active role in propelling you forward. It was left entirely up to you -- which, if you are unaware of opportunities or how your skills could best be utilized, you'd end up missing out on potential career advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Take a more proactive approach to cultivating your employees. It will build a stronger team and lift the expectations and potentials of the individuals.

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Co-workers and middle management are really very nice people. Can position your self well for global jobs and travel if you manage your career pathing the right way.

    Cons

It's all about cost cutting, which means off shoring everything they can. They'll cut your job in a heartbeat if they think it's possible and it will save them a buck.

    Advice to Management

Focus on providing quality products and services, this unfortunately is being sacrificed for cost savings.

    Pros

Benefits, compensation, great people to work with, again with my manager I work freely and not micromanaged, great location to work.

    Cons

Systems are out dated. Senior management tries to get you to do multiple peoples jobs for one salary. Good employees get over worked to the core. Bad employees get of the hook

    Advice to Management

Stop assigning other peoples jobs to one person

Work scheduling. Reasonable Vacation days and carryover days that can be extended for the next yr.

Under the division segment - to many initiatives being deployed without having the resources ready and disconnect among some employees to it.

    Advice to Management

Make realistic and specific changes within specified time period

    Pros

    Cultural diversity, global, great people.

    Cons

Slow to change. Very siloed. Massive cost cutting measures in place. No stability or long term future with all of the scandals and refusal to make real lasting changes at the top of the food change. Learn what you can and MOVE ON.

    Advice to Management

Clean up your act. Corrupt and inconsistent banking and lending practices (money laundering for drug deala, terrorists and tax evaders), antiquated systems that are incompatible and not trrating your staff right or paying them a decent wage is hurting you.

    Pros

There aren't any pros to working here

    Cons

They find every excuse not to pay bonuses. They micro manage employees. They expect you to work overtime and not pay you for it. Branches are in disrepair. Awful customer service. Lack of competitive products to see. They promise a book of thousands of 'affluent' customers but they don't have any. They force you to sell products unsuitable to clients needs. Zero advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Stop forcing employees to sell insurance and annuities products to people who don't need them
