I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time

    Pros

Worked with a great team, very supportive and happy to help. Challenging but manageable work flow. Strong culture and good experience

    Cons

Worked on many international assignments as U.S. presence isn't as strong. Sometimes challenging due to time zone differences between NY and HK, but overall a unique perspective I wouldn't have had elsewhere

    Advice to Management

Understand what deliverables clients actually value. For those that don't matter to clients, either change the way they are delivered so they become relevant, or reduce the time spent by the team putting them together.

I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time

    Pros

I was fortunate enough to be assigned to the IT COO office and had been worked closely with some of the most senior managers in the corporation over this year. Job role had been really dynamic, and my duty changed a lot together with the transformation of the company itself. Sometimes works could be complicated and ad-hoc but I really enjoy such nature of the department since I am never a person who sit still and just work on the same thing over and over again.

    Cons

Because of my position, I didn't really have any technical exposure in my role.

    Pros

Great place to start your career. Promoted within. And pay raises are good too.

    Cons

Company has been down sizing over the past few years, meaning less payouts and bonuses.

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time

    Pros

Constant training and refresher courses. Charity work. Open communication. HSBC has one of the most comprehensive training programs. This makes the transition to other companies easier. Should make former HSBC employees find a job easier.

    Cons

Constant changes that may not be thoroughly thought through. More employee appreciation for the job people do above and beyond expectation, including the people that are not highly visible.

    Advice to Management

Having a better view of the employees along with using good management skills will better give managers a complete assessment of employees to better assist in any help that is required.

    Pros

Great people and great work environment. Management really recognize people's contribution and value. Very flexible hours and management respect others' personal life
