I have been working at HSMC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

HSMC is a good company to work for. The benefits are pretty good to boot, dental and health care.
They also try hard to build a company culture with things like trips to Six Flags or Soccer and Volleyball tournaments as well as a yearly holiday party.
If you're willing to put in the work, you will do well here and the management doors are always open should you have questions or concerns.

    Cons

Inter-office communication sometimes leaves staff with more questions than answers.

    Advice to Management

I think inter-office communication could be improved, making sure the staff is aware of changes, updates etc.

I worked at HSMC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, good holiday party and employee outings.

    Cons

Senior management is full of themselves. They treat the line staff poorly. Salary staff punch in and out. Very odd working environment.

    Advice to Management

    Be humble.

I worked at HSMC as an intern

    Negative Outlook

I worked at HSMC (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Fun boss to work for also was a great person to learn the ins and outs of IT from.
    - A great way to begin IT career.

    Cons

    - Pay was awful
    - A LOT of traveling which was unfairly compensated for that beat the crap out of my car. So bad that when I went for my next job I bought a new car.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better and make it worthwhile to travel for you and maybe you'd still have me.

    Pros

Great opportunity to try a wide variety of marketing tasks for multiple companies

    Cons

None, take advantage of the opportunity by absorbing and learning as much about the marketing process during your time there.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at HSMC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good effort from management to engage employees, good year end bonuses, cash-in extra vacation/sick time.

    Cons

Management ideals in the finance department are obsolete; iron first mentality.

I worked at HSMC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Except senior management, the people there are really wonderful nice people to work with.
The owners other businesses that HSMC provides services to, provide wonderful health services to children with developmental disabilities or delays, and they are a good cause to get behind and work to aid in.

    Cons

Micro-managers galore in the senior management.
Exempt employees have to punch in and out.
Work week is 40 hours but you are expected to bill 50+.
They will promise you more help and none will ever be forthcoming.

    Advice to Management

The task master whipping the oarsmen approach no longer works in this day and age. You need to start to take a work hard play hard approach and engage your employees, not treat them like children or call them names in front of others.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Excellent benefits, great vacation and time off policies
    Ease of commute
    small office

    Cons

VP of Finance is extremely difficult to work for
    HR Director is micro-managed
    Entire company is micro-managed
You can not send out a memo (not kidding) without the approval of Sr Management.
Very old fashion company - no flex time,
Even exempt employees much punch in/out and all time worked is reported to President

    Advice to Management

Get new leadership. Begin to evolve into a participatory company. Stop using parent/child tactics to deal with employees.
