I have been working at HSN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home so no commute required besides walking to my desk! My training, my team and my supervisor have been awesome from the first day. Communications and updates in emails are frequent which is always a plus, insurance benefits are really good with plan choices, 401k, PTO, holiday pay and occasional overtime and convenience leave plus two days paid community service a year! I truly feel like the company cares about their employees and wants then to succeed. The starting pay is actually decent for a work at home position and hourly pay is more the later the shift you choose. I am very happy with my employment here at HSN and plan to stay!

    Cons

Only things I can think of is the same as any customer service/retail position- you will get cranky customers and they can get mean about things that are out of your control- it comes woth the job so best thing is not to take it personal and kill em with kindness. Second is maintaining your KPI especially average handle time- goal is to keep your avg to 265 seconds or less but it is based on a monthly avg. This can be difficult when systems run slow or customers get chatty and have a lot of questions. Best thing to remember is your coaching to control your call. It is a skill that I have heard gets better with time if you stick with it. Plus its not really a con for me but you most likely will start off on a night shift with weekends but you get a weekend off every five weeks, and they do have shift bids plus buddy trades in case you need to switch.

    Advice to Management

I do not personally have any issues with management but I will say for other supervisors and quality personnel that sometimes no matter what you do, some customers will ride up the AHT especially around the holidays. It would be nice to have a little more allowance for average handle time in customer service since there is typically a lot more to cover than just placing an order.
