I worked at HSN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The flexibility of working at home and having supportive coworkers. The training was good and management is supportive in spite of the cons.

    Cons

Well, I do happen to agree with these other people who state that the system is antiquated and full of technical glitches. Expected to keep our calls down to a few minutes, however, that is just not possible most of the time. Callers have tons of questions and because the system has a lot of technical glitches, your call time will be usually longer and that's not something you can control. There are very few people who can meet their parameters.

    Advice to Management

Please update the CLIC system. If you just invest some time and money into IT to revamp the whole system as well as the training, it would run more smoothly. I wish I could say that the technical glitches are far few between but they are near and often.

I worked at HSN full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good access to work, as there is always plenty. Prime jobs are hoarded by Management and their favorites, but the sheer multitude of events and shows yield opportunities for all if you stay engaged and work hard.

    Cons

Terrible work environment in this particular department. Favoritism, nepotism, and a juvenile obsession with "looking the part" rather than doing the work, erodes any sense of teamwork and creates a negative vibe most employees flee from. A former Director once ridiculed my colleague for not wearing make-up publicly. I got a thorough head-to-toe examination of my wardrobe in every meeting with higher-ups. Employees dread being at their desks and often take walks and lunch out to avoid the soul-destroying vibe inside the office, which is a direct result of leadership.

    Advice to Management

Please embrace the fact that we are retail TV serving a mass audience who wants basic products (most of the time) at good value, like Joy's clientele. You are not working for a NYC ad agency catering only to the rich and famous. Get over it and create content that serves the brand, customers and the live show that pays your wages.

    Pros

    Employee Discounts and time off

I have been working at HSN full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I am in my fifth year with HSN. The benefits and other perks are fantastic; and the pay is better than most in my local area for the same type of work. I know my schedule a month ahead of time and with PTO and holiday, I can plan my time off and vacations a year in advance. You are not micro-managed. You have access to your stats and you are responsible for your own growth and development. My supervisor is great and gives me the opportunity to assist the team with peer coaching, developing training material, and much more. I would recommend HSN to anyone.

    Cons

There aren't any cons! I love working for this company. Coming to work at HSN was the best decision I ever made.
