Good People Good Cause
Nov 18, 2016 - ReStore Driver in Independence, MORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Working with great group of people that believe in the mission of Habitat for Humanity. Interesting retail environment at the ReStore locations always a good challenge because all the inventory is from donations.
Cons
The biggest con working is that most employment opportunities are part time and the money is not great. That is the trade off working for a non-profit charity. You can feel good about what you are doing but it is a lean operation. The revenue generated is to go to the Habitat mission not to salaries and frills.

Decent professionally, not a great culturally

You work with very talented people and you can get a lot out of the job. Overall not a bad professional experience.
Cons
The work culture is pretty awful people are constantly stressed and not great at communicating in a straight forward way. I believe this has nothing to do with individual people I think it's just the hierarchal environment they created. They are not flexible with work-life balance and people are really stretched thin- some managers are better than others. Maybe get rid of the once a month birthday/anniversary celebration ordeal and actually pretend you actually care.

Little diversity in the top management ranks The pay gap for leadership versus everyday workers is totally out of whack Revolving door: too many layoffs and firings of hard working people for a small organization
