I worked at Hajoca Corporation full-time

    Pros

Customers become friends for life. They will bend over backwards for you if you do the same for them.

    Cons

Leadership is lacking. It causes employees to become toxic, and that becomes contagious. Needs serious work.

    Advice to Management

Find a new job. Bring back old management so you start making profit again.

I have been working at Hajoca Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great hours and time off. Not hard work if you pay attention and work smarter. Profit sharing can be nice when the manager likes you when it’s time to allocate!

    Cons

Manager CONTROLS profit sharing and holds it over your head. They take 60-70% and distribute whatever is left. Or they give their employee(wife) a large chunk as well and allow her to think she runs the store and expects you to treat her like she is your boss.

    Advice to Management

Stop allowing husbands and wives to hire each other. Stop hiring family friends that have no business in the plumbing industry.

I worked at Hajoca Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The location I worked at allowed a flexible schedule.

    Cons

Complete lack of support from upper management. Hiring or shuffling around employees into certain jobs that they have ZERO experience in. Health insurance costs very high & benefits just mediocre for a company with the size & wealth of Hajoca.

    Advice to Management

Richard Klau, Rick Fantham & Jock Castoldi need to be more in touch with their employees and who they give full reign to. It is truly appalling who they allow to be ‘in charge’ of the day to day management of the profit centers. So MUCH MORE PROFIT could be made if they actually had a clue. As long as Hajoca is collecting their monthly ‘inventory / investment’ fee, I don’t think they really care if the branch is profitable.

I have been working at Hajoca Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

the company offers benefits and profit sharing. weekends off(at my location), paid vacation

    Cons

No cost of living raises, no room for advancement. You are required to pass the Wonderlicht test, (which most of the existing managers would probably fail). .Hajoca has a manager trainee program, so they give the manager positions to young people right out of college instead of promoting the people who have been here for years and know the business. The manager has complete control over how the profit sharing is disbursed, so if you are not on his good side when the disbursement is decided you might get screwed. The managers use the profit sharing as a weapon instead of a reward, threatening to take it away from you or give you very little if you make mistakes or disagree with them on anything. There is no confidentiality with upper management so if you complain to or confide in your regional, be sure that it will get back to your manager. And if you share anything personal with your manager, be sure the rest of the employees, your sales reps, customers, etc, will hear about it. It's worse than high school with the gossip. The branch is run as a dictatorship, with the manager disrespecting the employees in front of each other and in front of customers. Morale is low. Things go on that are unethical but everyone is afraid to speak against the manager because it will get back to them and the employee will be out of a job. I could go on, but you get the idea. If you aren't a manager or a relative of the manager, don't bother applying for a job unless it's temporary until you find something better. I have worked here for 20+ years and have seen all of this happen. The only reason I stay is because I am close to retirement and I need the healthcare benefits for my family

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and talk to them with respect. Ditch the nepotism and and favoritism, and disburse profit sharing based on longevity and merit. Ask yourself if you really deserve 30% of the profit sharing. Some of the employees deserve more of a share than even the manager, because they do more and know more than the managers do

    Pros

The culture of this company says it all, everyone that works here or at least at my location work really well together.

    Cons

If you are not in the "management program" it is very difficult to move up again just what I have seen at my location

    Advice to Management

To just be up front with new employees about realistic timelines on career advancements
