Great place to gain experience
Feb 10, 2022 - Machine Operator in Ellwood City, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
More relaxed work environment than some other shops. Great place to gain experience. Health Savings account w/ partial employer matching. Always work coming in the door. Advancement is possible if you seek it out.
Cons
Lack of communication throughout. Getting a raise is difficult. Health Insurance isn’t the best, and is expensive, especially for family plan.

Great for entry-level engineers

Fantastic exposure/experience for young engineers. As an engineer for Hall, you'll be expected to provide cradle-to-grave support for all products. This includes (but never limited to) technical sales support, technical customer support, design, development, manufacturing support, production operations support, technical purchasing, and continuous improvement efforts. You'll be self-taught and self-managed, though after a few years you will have an extremely strong work ethic that cannot be taught.
Cons
The company has a, "many hats," culture where everyone pitches in for the greater good of the company, but the effort quickly falls short of execution as lack of organization and structure. ie: Sales and production/operations often pushed Engineering for short-sighted changes. The atmosphere lacked healthy debate and emotional rule by power was the name of the game. Continuous Improvement is a lost concept. Very few personnel are formally educated.
