I worked at Hall & Partners (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are friendly and (for the most part) genuinely like each other. Very comfortable office atmosphere. Good laughs shared. Feels like a team.

    Cons

Training and onboarding is not good. Long (LONG) hours. Nowhere near enough staff to get jobs done in normal business hours. (Thanks, Omnicom!) Also middle management is subpar. They don't show that they actually care about those junior to them, take on more work than they can handle in order to look good to their bosses, and aren't afraid to push unwanted work that they believe to be "below them" onto those junior than them even though they have nowhere near capacity to take it on.

    Advice to Management

Trainings. Actual trainings from day one- not just shoving work onto the newbies, saying "figure it out because everyone is swamped." It's vital in order to sustain company traditions and keep morale up. Also, upper management, ask around the office as to what's really going on, bc most managers and directors are just showing you their good side to suck up.

    Pros

Great exposure to Fortune 100 and 500 clients. Supportive team environment with bi-annual reviews. Fun atmosphere, company culture, and coworkers. Not as many office politics as other companies within the industry.

    Cons

Work can be tedious and demanding, especially since there's a tendency to understaff. Experience is entirely dependent on the office location - some offices are currently running better in terms of staffing and culture.

    Pros

Employees get a lot of training and mentorship.

    Cons

Communication from management is lacking and overall company vision/direction is unclear or at best mixed. There has been a lot of employee churn at all levels both involuntary and voluntary. Low morale due to downsizing and unexpected layoffs.

I have been working at Hall & Partners full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hall and Partners has been known as one of the more generous research companies in terms of compensation and benefits. This is still true, however the sustainability of this compensation is questionable as the company grows and misses its financial goals.
Other pros - LA office is conveniently located in downtown LA, accessible to public transportation (metro red line).

    Cons

Out of touch leadership, lack of personal career development/training, poorly structured (top heavy and lack of proper support- though the company is working towards improving this, it is taking a while to see the benefits).

    Advice to Management

Refocus on the people, providing the right training for career development, leadership training so that higher ups can properly motivate and inspire thier team.

    Pros

Good benefits, health care included, secure environment, friendly people

    Cons

It takes forever to get promoted there and good luck getting a decent wage to go along with a subpar non-competitive salary to begin wtih

    Advice to Management

Realize that it costs more to replace someone and train them than it does to promote someone deserving and give them a raise
