I have been working at Hall & Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This industry can be filled with ego-maniacs and amateurs but H&P has somehow found the best of the best at all levels. The talent is smart and diverse and includes big thinkers and data gurus

Global opportunities are awesome. Offices everywhere!

Great reputation with clients and in the industry

The perks of being part of a holding company

    Flexibility

    Cons

H&P brand is going through a real evolution and it takes time and requires patience and trust

Technology could use a face lift. Macs!

    Advice to Management

Encourage your teams to be "out there" in the industry so that H&P gets more presence and recognition. Look for talent in unusual places

I have been working at Hall & Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The culture is vibrant and people generally get along. H&P is in the process of rebranding itself both internally and externally, so there have been a lot of engaging company-wide sessions in an attempt to change the culture globally. That said, accounts take priority and we often miss these sessions due to demanding client work.

    Cons

Very (VERY) long hours due to under staffed accounts. Pay is also low. There's an unwritten expectation that you're always connected and available to work around the clock. Vacation time at H&P is generous, but there isn't much flexibility to take it.

    Advice to Management

Need a better hold on account staffing and continue to stress work-life balance for employees/mid-managers. Also, employee training is a must, and it's often overlooked because we're "too busy."

    Pros

Innovative methodologies and creative output delivered to clients

    Cons

Leadership doesn't know what they are doing and they don't have a clear vision. There is little to no work/life balance.

I have been working at Hall & Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

H&P has a great culture and wonderful people. Though this is my first job out of college and I've only been here less than a year, I feel as though my voice is heard and I make a valued difference. With social events such as the summer party and Friday Night Drinks, it's been really fun working here. I also enjoy the free food/snacks.

    Cons

Our space could be better; it looks a bit drab right now.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! You've got a good thing going.

I worked at Hall & Partners full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people. H&P had at the time some of the best people I have ever worked with. They made it truly special. The work and clients were interesting but what made it special was how I looked forward to coming to work with such exemplary people.

    Cons

Got too top heavy. Constant changing and shifting leadership team made it impossible to establish tone for NY office. Lacked natural leaders. Global CEO treated employees like children while asking them to behave like adults.

    Advice to Management

Find a new global CEO. Stop trying to be Millward Brown. Or stop advertising yourself as a unique alternative. Remember that the people are what made Hall and Partners great. But if you chase them away you'll end up being another has been MR firm.

    Pros

Friendly people, easy to work with, a solid market research company with really strong qualitative research.

    Cons

It is a fast moving / changing industry and there are many new innovative ways to collect data and conduct market research. H&P was a bit slow on incorporating innovative ways and new data sources into research

    Advice to Management

Do not ignore innovation, bring in new methodologies.
