I worked at Halliburton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Plenty of overtime when there is work

    Cons

Too many cutbacks on employee benefits, always taking away, not the same as the old Halliburton

    Advice to Management

Give more to the employees and they will give and care more

I have been working at Halliburton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay and benefits are competitive and growth opportunities are decent. Extensive training is available.

    Cons

Experience is not valued, the company focuses on processes and programs not people, too many inexperienced middle managers, high performers are not rewarded enough, no financial motivation for skilled workers. Employee satisfaction is low.

I have been working at Halliburton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Halliburton is a great place to work because of its benefits, ethics and reputation.

    Cons

Supply chain opportunities are minimal, it is a man's world and women will find it difficult to advance.

    Advice to Management

Technology will drive the company into a better position. The company has antiquated systems. Valued employees are not allowed to advance. Departments and product lines are wrought with silos. Women are treated unfairly and in some departments are treated with disrespect. Ethical behavior suits management when it is convenient.

I have been working at Halliburton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Halliburton pays well for the most part, and benefits are decent (although getting worse every year).

    Cons

It all depends on the manager you end up with. I used to get all kinds of personal and professional development, but with my current manager, it has ALL stopped. They need to have more in place that keeps bad managers from stopping their employees growth.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you people are being developed, even when a bad manager is in place that will do nothing for their employees. Makes the entire organization bad.

I have been working at Halliburton full-time

    Pros

Work without being micro-managed all the time. Large company with lot's of opportunity.

    Cons

Extremely political environment that is very "clickish" Senior Management is more worried about who is on-site rather than who is working.

    Advice to Management

Fix the Pay Performance Review (PPR) and promotion process.

    Pros

Provide a good training program and school for entry level engineers. Experience with the company is valuable and well respected across the industry. Opportunities for advancement exist and many different career paths are available.

    Cons

Criteria for promotion was constantly changing and upper management did not communicate well. Pay is on the lower end when compared to other service companies.

    Advice to Management

Have a better plan in place to deal with mass influx of hires during boom times.
