I have been working at Halliburton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In-depth training in great for someone with no oilfield experience, Reasonable compensation, Good health benefits

    Cons

A lot of the 'training' is thinly-veiled hazing, work-life balance is non-existent, employees are viewed as an expense and an inconvenience,

    Advice to Management

You are managing people, not just numbers. Realize that the people in the field are your bread-and-butter and your job is to support them.

    Pros

    Good Coworkers, good health benefits

    Cons

    Management, No career advancement opportunities

    Advice to Management

Quit trying to run the business by intimidation but rather through good training and a positive attitude. Management needs to stop creating silos between other departments. Need to start treating the women employees as equals.

I have been working at Halliburton full-time

    Pros

    - Have offices spread out throughout the world, and have the possibility to transfer in the right circumstances
    - Decent training for the job at hand
    - Decent technical support from across borders

    Cons

    - Less than average compensation
    - Few raises even in good economic conditions
    - Limited opportunities to cross train in different areas
    - Engineers are given limited opportunity to interact and provide feedback to decision makers

    Advice to Management

    - Strive to ask your top individuals in various areas where the company is strong, and where it is struggling. An example is that the engineering department is rarely consulted before engineering personnel decisions are made.

I have been working at Halliburton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some great people working at the heart of this company. Middle management especially, keeping everything running and without them to make the senior team look good - look out, there will be some at the top left very exposed. Field crews mostly good, engineers mostly good

    Cons

Upper management have no clue, unrealistic demands, never been in the field and too many accountants running the show, completely disconnected from the clients and not well thought of in the industry, used to have the best image in OZ but not any more, HR & BD the worst in any company i have worked for

    Advice to Management

they wont listen so no point - how can you spend $4Bn with nothing to show and keep your job whilst others at the coal face are being released all over the world???

    Advice to Management
