I worked at Halliburton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company credit union bank had excellent rates.

    Cons

You are a number, working in unfit conditions with ever changing pay for management that spends ever moment trying to stab you in the back. No business ethics. No room for advancement. No consistent work schedule. Field hands not invited to company events. Terrible HR. Bloated management structure. Company self insured health insurance does not cover autism regardless of state laws.

I worked at Halliburton full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful corporate campus, good pay and capable colleagues. These comments refer to the corporate headquarters at Northpark in Houston, Texas.

    Cons

Slashed way too many good people due to poor management. Senior management cannot be trusted. Company practices are unprofessional and border on unethical. Avoid working here if you can.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent and practice what you preach. Although you cannot control market conditions, you can control your ethics and integrity...and treat employees with respect. You may just need something from the people you step on.

    Pros

Pro was my manager was flexible with my work hours and I got to work with some very talented professionals. There was access to training materials.

    Cons

The culture is very negative where talent and output is not rewarded. You will meet lots of people who have been at the job for 20 years and don't hold up to their job description. The compensation is unfair and biased towards older men who are clueless about the latest technologies. I worked with various individuals who had no clue what their responsibilities were as managers don't set expectations. Some of the people that are hired into the software teams are outdated and have no clue what they are doing. If you are looking to write good code, look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Recognize talent and reward accordingly. Try to set a learning culture. Provide career growth opportunities.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a revision of management goals and replacement of some management people and a refocus on proper treatment of employees.

    Pros

    You get paid pretty well..

    Cons

Unorganized and untrained management. The company is so large you become a name on a piece of paper not an actual person. They use you for everything you have. Common to work 16 hour days for 2 weeks on.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring engineers as managers. They are completely untrained to be management and most of them are horrible leaders.
