I have been working at Hallin Marine as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some great people work here and you can learn a lot from them if you can find out who they are.

    Cons

Snake pit of office politics in many departments and a lot of passengers in mid and senior management positions. Too many people with personal agendas rather than company success in mind. No flexible working arrangements and little reward for hard work and diligence due to weak leadership listening to the wrong people.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the hard core of non contributors who cause the hostile working environment and enforce the international culture that you like to pretend exists. Check the it records and you will see how much time is wasted on social networking in some areas

    Pros

A lot of independent tasks which give you the chance to work from the start to the end. Colleagues in the company are fine & fun to wok with.

    Cons

Lack of career advancement in the company. A person can stay in the same posiiton after working so many years. There is no specific career path that you can see at the other end of the tunnel. Salary perks & bonus are not in line with other competitiors Training & Development scheme for employees

    Advice to Management

Time to reshape the management & scale to better heights.
