    I worked at Halloween City part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The customers are very enthusiastic about finding a fun costume which made helping them fantastic. As an employee, you get 30% off merchandise and usually fairly flexible hours. High school students have an opportunity to get experience and work in a friendly environment after school as well.

    Cons

    The duties you will be asked to perform while working as a part time associate are not conveyed up front. You will be asked to help set up stores if you get hired before October and if you stay on after October you will be asked to help disassemble stores and place the products into boxes to be shipped back to the warehouse. The physical labor of these tasks is not worth the minimum wage offered regardless of prior customer service experience. The hours and duties outside of working during normal store operating hours are strenuous and you may be asked to work without breaks or a lunch in a hot building. Many employees I worked with, including myself, became extremely ill after working a 10 hour shift while taking a store down.

    Advice to Management

    Control breaks, lunches, and clock in/outs in a more professional and reliable manner. Inform potential employees of the abnormal duties they may be asked to perform.

    Poor Organization, Horrible Product Quality, No Local Charitable Donations.

    Revise the freight shipments and treat employees better.

    Pros

    literally did nothing and got paid.
    If you're lazy you'll like it here.
    Okay discount on costumes, but still overpriced.

    Cons

    literally did next to nothing. just standing for hours.
    management was nonexistent, I don't even know you the manager was. Which sucks because I can't even put it on a resume because I have no clue who my supervisor even was.

    Advice to Management

    I get your seasonal but try harder.

    Super repetitive, can be stressful, manager sometimes hard to find

    Probably have the manager and supervisor on duty together

    Pros

    Fun seasonal job, as long as you know how to handle stress well. You get a merchandise discount for working there.

    Cons

    Horrible management! At times, I had to do the assistant manager's job for them. Plus, we rarely got our breaks on time. Sometimes, we didn't get our breaks at all. None of us were even shown the training video until 2 weeks after we opened.

    Advice to Management

    Hire managers that actually care about not breaking the law.

    Pros

    -Temporary/seasonal position that ends early November: start earning money for the holidays.
    -Understandable with school hours and understands if you already have another job.

    Cons

    You are thrown out on the floor after watching a very dry video. You are expected to answer customer's questions. That wouldn't be a problem if they actually trained their staff. Also, while you're at the fitting rooms, you have to watch customers while making sure they don't take the entire costume out. This annoys the customers, who in turn pester the employees who cannot do anything about it.

    Advice to Management

    Please train staff more! Being thrown out on the floor and unable to help customers is a painful experience.

    Perfect if you love Halloween
    Lot of work / busy, not boring
    Great Employee Discount
    Can have fun working in costume!

    Cons

    Temp Work only.
    Infexible pay rate scale
    Cannot get 40 hours as an effort to avoid overtime
    Poor treatment - people treated as "throw-aways"
    Person called out sick once - it cost them a better position.
    Business only for the quick hit profit, do not care about "Temps"
    Poor hiring - LOCATION was in NOT place before job offer.
    HOPE you get a manager that knows how to work with people.
