I worked at Halstead Property part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent marketing. Director of Sales of our office was a really good leader who motivated us all. Mentor was very helpful and she taught me so much about the business and was very encouraging. Our sales team worked very well together and was very helpful with referrals with me as a new agent.

    Cons

I wish the training that was available in Manhattan was also avaialble to us in Connecticut at an eatlier date but we didnt have enough agents in our area to warrant it at the time.

I have been working at Halstead Property full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can work independently if you're liked.

    Cons

Employee clicks/groups which include supervisors that do not welcome you to share your expertise, to which make it very hard to fit in. If you don't oblige, they work against you & work together to get you out. Clients have commented on unpleasant treatment.

    Advice to Management

Investigate supervisors of your Depts, especially the head of transfer dept. who is unpleasant & shows lack of professionalism to run a dept. Has too many assts that only follow her lead & do not care about the integrity of what a transfer dept should be. Competitiveness with one another. They lack professionalism.

I worked at Halstead Property full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work as entreprenuer so you're kind of your own boss choosing days and hours work. choose your own clients. Must stay positive.

    Cons

Paid by commission only so if you don't close a deal it doesn't matter how much hours you work or how hard; no deal no pay. watch your back, there are no friends just users and back stabbers.

    Advice to Management

Keep a open mind and be fair to everyone new or old to the company. Make sure the paid staff do their jobs to provide assistance to agents and co-brokers.

    Pros

The training is stellar. The staff, agents and upper management work as a team which is rare for brokerages.

    Cons

You do not get handed clients here, not even on rentals. But that is true of most Manhattan brokerages.

I have been working at Halstead Property full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Leaders who are engaged and available to all for input. The company culture is one of continual learning, training, and discussion and all of it is client driven. Leave your ego at the door.

    Cons

The industry itself can be extremely competitive and since it is cyclical in nature we are not immune to that. It is results driven and while there is significant support in place if you do not produce you will not survive...and might actually be asked to leave.

    Advice to Management

Consider some formal testing criteria for new agents and perhaps evaluate some office management positions to have sales productive incentives.

Broker training program is best in class. Company is very well organized and either sets the trend or follows the trend in technology and marketing.

    Cons

Cannot think of any at this time

    Pros

Friendly environment where managers from all offices are easily accessible for help. Coworkers are also willing to lend advice and a helping hand.

Company assists new hires with lead generations.

Different training classes are offered 2-3 times a week.

    Fair commission splits as well.

    Cons

Computers are a bit dated and company computer serves can be slow at times.

    Advice to Management

Great management, continue to be encouraging towards your employees. My only suggestion is to update the equipment in the office.
