I have been working at Hamlyn Williams full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great rewards for hard work - Young and ambitious management - You are thrown in at the deep and and you will thrive if you are the sort of person that is hungry for success - You can earn multiple promotions within two years if you just do the basics well - There are multiple avenues for you to go down once you get more experience - Great commission structure

    Cons

    - Still a 'clumsy' start-up feel to the organization - A lot of knee-jerk decisions are made rather than a set structure to the way things are done - The environment does not suit a lazy person, you will be found out very quickly (I guess this is a plus, really)

    Advice to Management

    - A more solid structure with the training in the first year

I have been working at Hamlyn Williams full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is a positive "work hard, play hard" culture that works nicely here because there's a strong sense of camaraderie within the office -- we encourage each other to be successful, push each other to work harder, and we have fun celebrating our accomplishments together. There is a lot of independence in the job, and management is typically open to new ideas or strategies for building your business. Career progression is based solely on your success, which is great but means that it isn't always smooth sailing to find your groove in the job. Be prepared to put in the extra time for the first 6 months (at least) if you want to hit promotion goals quickly.

    Cons

It can be frustrating when you feel that you are doing all of the right things and not seeing results. There are times when company changes occur or there are last minute events that can feel out of the blue. A bit more transparency overall would be a welcome improvement.

I have been working at Hamlyn Williams full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This company truly rewards hard work. If you put the time and effort in, your manager will ensure that you become successful. Each manager across the business takes a very hands on approach in developing new grads. The managers will always be by your side to help you through any adversity.

    Cons

Recruitment is a roller coaster, where there will be great times and horrible times, and the gritty hours will be worth it in the long run.

    Advice to Management

Continue being selfless, and be patient with new grads. It takes a while to figure out how the industry works.

I have been working at Hamlyn Williams

    Pros

-Work/Life Balance, as not typically found in other firms (I've been there). You can step out when you need a break and management is not clock-watching -Dedicated leadership -Clear & transparent vision/strategy for the future of the business -Ambitious growth plan w/ clear & achievable opportunities for growth -Strong commission structure for both consultants & management -Family culture, work hard/play hard type environment w/ a fun & friendly group of people -Great mix of experienced recruiters and trainee consultants -Incentives reward performance & there are plenty of them -Employee feedback and ideas is listened to & valued

    Cons

-Could use improvement in terms of marketing/branding -Consultants will be developing and growing their own desks so there is leg work in the beginning - if you're not up for it, you may not work out -There are certainly some long nights in this business but they are voluntarily albeit sometimes necessary to have success in this market.

    Advice to Management

Continue to roll out the current strategy while improving the overall business as a whole.

I have been working at Hamlyn Williams full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Hamlyn Williams is a very fun place to work. It is a work hard play hard environment. As a grad right out of college the upper management has made it easy for me to transition to such a fast paste, results driven business. They have provided me with the tools and training needed to be successful

    Cons

The work day hours a long, but that is what is expected in a results driven business. You have to put in the work to get the results. If you do not have an aggressive, persistent, and hungry attitude this is not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

    none.
