I worked at Hampton Roads Transit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy work, easy people to work with, supervisors were understanding, the work was never difficult to understand.

    Cons

No body cared about the work they did. They only came in for their 8 hours and would leave. No pride in work.

I have been working at Hampton Roads Transit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, but will probably not for much longer; Good pay in most positions; Loyal employees.

    Cons

Very set in their ways, unwilling to change, even if it's for the better. Policies are vague and set by each department manager instead of having set company policies which creates uneven treatment and rules among employees. Low employee morale, they do not care about you as a person or support you, only listen to what you have to say if you are in a management position. Loyal employees are not appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Change! Listen to your employees or go see what is actually happening in the lower levels, most of management is blind to what is actually happening below them. Care about and support your employees and they will give you their all.

I worked at Hampton Roads Transit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay was good, you get a pay raise every 10 months until you max out at around 20 dollars. Benefits are ok.

    Cons

The company doesn't value their employees and the drivers are not safe. It's hard to get a day off even though you have personal days and vacation days. The communication through out the company sucks. The schedules are jacked up. They will have you report in the morning for about an hour and then you report back in about five hours later to complete your shift. The union is a waste of money. BEWARE!

    Advice to Management

I don't know where to start.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Hampton Roads Transit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Driving is ok, talking with passengers

    Cons

Before I knew what my problem was (enlarged prostate) I was terminated because of emergency urinating outdoors in private location, or so I thought. I was on camera. Got documentation from doctor, but not good enough.

    Advice to Management

Management appears afraid to think outside the box.
