    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Hancock Natural Resource Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Hancock Natural Resource Group provides a great Work/life balance for its employees. Employees are cared for and respected.

    Cons

Parent company has a much different culture and is not always easy to work with as a result. The parent's employees leave or move departments a lot, so it feels like a continuous education process for those who we have to provide info to. With that said, we get to benefit from the employee benefits offered of a large company.

    Advice to Management

Upper management is extremely approachable and take time to know their employees. I would like to see this continue.

I worked at Hancock Natural Resource Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

HNRG is professional, successful and has many projects to work on while also providing a laid back atmosphere. No one is breathing down your throat, you can set your own work hours and work from home on occasion. The office is fancy and in the heart of Boston's financial district with amazing views. All employees have their own offices but they are moving to cubicles next year.

    Cons

They laid off at least 30 people including myself, after only 2 1/2 months of employment. We agreed to little or no travel during the interview process but then I was asked to do a ton of travel within the first 2 months of employments.

    Advice to Management

New employees should get much more training on the company background, products and processes. I had to blindly search for information on how the company worked and what exactly they did.
