    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Hannis T Bourgeois LLP full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free water and coffee in the break room, and paid parking downtown.

    Cons

The partners are unintelligent and narcissistic. Everyone who has worked for them has quit. Also, the health plan is the worst that exists anywhere.

    Advice to Management

Close the New Orleans Assurance practice, and focus on Baton Rouge.

I worked at Hannis T Bourgeois LLP full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great family-oriented and flexible atmosphere. Most managers are friendly and willing to help you grow. HTB has clients in a variety of industries and has audit partners with vast experience and knowledge. Great socials, great people, and a lot of great clients.

    Cons

Pay is usually lower than average unless you aggressively negotiate. There are too many tiers (Staff 1, Staff 2, Semi-Senior, Senior, Supervisor, Manager, etc). If you are in a big class with no openings in the levels above you, a promotion is not likely. Many engagements have small budgets, so most evaluations focus on the employee's ability to adhere to the budget instead of his/her overall performance and... contributions. The firm is a little top-heavy with lots of partners, so if your objective is to make partner, you may be waiting a while.

    "Horrible Experience"

    StarStarStarStarStar

I have been working at Hannis T Bourgeois LLP

    Pros

It's a large firm with a lot if opportunities to gain experience. The salary is pretty good.

    Cons

Management wants corners cut to safe time at a huge sacrifice to quality and accuracy. When errors are found management wants to tuck them under the rug and hope no one else discovers them instead of owning up to the mistake and correcting it. There is a lot of jealousy and back stabbing that occurs.

    Advice to Management

Put quality, accuracy, customer service, client relationships and employee relationships at the top of the list without putting so much emphasis on cutting corners and cutting cost. It will payoff. You ride on reputation when if clients could see what really goes on they would leave in a heartbeat.
