I have been working at Hanover Foods full-time

    Pros

New management is changing things for the better. Hanover is an old company that is now making the right management decisions for the future and focusing of new and exciting product lines. Love that were free to make our own decisions for the company. New team, new company

    Cons

Wish it happened ten years ago because there is a lot of catching up to do. Check out the web site and you will see what I mean.

I have been working at Hanover Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have now learned how not to run a business.

    Cons

They are running this business into the ground so fast and hurting a lot of good people along the way. Lack of caring is quite evident.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to someone who would care about the people not just the profit.

    Advice to Management

Keep a closer eye on your off site departments.

I worked at Hanover Foods (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People who worked there and left

    Cons

Upper Management cluless, family should let someone else run the company.
Stay far away from this company.

    Advice to Management

    Sell the company

    Pros

Competitive weekly pay. Little to no supervision. Lots of hours in the summer months. Laid back and easy

    Cons

Gossiping favoritism and lies are prevalent with management. Raises are few and far between for a company making so much money.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees better and not like they are dispensible.

I worked at Hanover Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Freedom, Decent Pay, Decent Supervisors, lots of opportunities to make money with overtime.

    Cons

I loved my job, but had to quit for schooling.

    Advice to Management

When I was there people complained a lot about the higher ups. They should be more involved with positive enforcement. Everyone looks at the Managers as the Grim Reapers and soulless jerks. I never found this to be the case. Everyone I came in contact with were great.

    Pros

bonuses, people (non-management), area, small company

    Cons

It is a place where fear rules and employees are treated as disposable. Don't except a pat on the back when you've accomplished anything, but always be ready to defend yourself for everything.

    Advice to Management

Your business runs on the efficiency of people. Constant firings, demotions, gossiping and backstabbing is hardly the way to spark morale.

  10. "Dysfunctional families run dysfunctional business--it all starts at the top."

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. People need to eat, and the company produces quality food products.

    Cons

Hanover hires employees who are a good 'match' for the way the people running the business think.
Employees are like tissues--when finished put them in the trash--someone else can always be hired to take your place. Management encourages snitching and back stabbing among employees.

    Advice to Management

This could be a great company to work for but some changes need to come from the top.
Working cooperatively with employees, and treating them like human beings would be a good place to start.
