I have been working at Hanover Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great staff who often go out of their way to help, amazing bosses who support and interact daily with you.

    Cons

Although I have worked here for 2 years, I am still required to swing day and night shift even though there are full time shifts open for just day or night. I have no idea why.

    Advice to Management

    I love my managers.

I worked at Hanover Hospital (More than a year)

    Pros

Small, close-knit group, lots of opportunities to be involved, good place to start career, coworkers will soon become your friends

    Cons

Starting pay wasn’t the best, but increases well after one year, many times you will work short staffed with high patient census

    Advice to Management

    Listen more to your employees

I have been working at Hanover Hospital full-time

    Pros

Promotes team work. They care about your opinion.

    Cons

Nurse Assistants should make more than they make here, but they are non-profit so the budget might be tight.

"First time ever working in a hospital with very little diversity. And this will be my last time doing so."

I have been working at Hanover Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small hospital so once you learn your way, you can't get lost. It's pretty much a circle. They have a pretty good insurance plan, free parking, very clean hospital.

    Cons

Extremely short staffed. High turnover rate.
The people within this hospital are very very back in time with racism and technology. Not very diverse at all
The pay is beyond low for anyone who isn't a registered nurse or physician. Human resources department is very small. When one person is out you're SOL on getting any type of assistance.

    Advice to Management

Take initiative when listening to your staff. Quit lying and undermining your employees.

I worked at Hanover Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Local commute. Enjoyed caring for people from my own community.

    Cons

No administrative support, HR dept. a joke. Senior management not concerned with staffing issues, only want better scores on patient surveys. Sad really. A lot of agency staff should tell you a lot about their staff retention.

    Advice to Management

Instead of focusing on surveys, try focusing on patient care and supporting the staff. CEO Jim Wissler took the fall for years of mismanagement.

    Pros

    Nurses work as a team
Management has recently hired more RNs for border patients

    Cons

    High stress
    So many committees
    Reactive vs proactive

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff prior to making such rash decisions. Stop always blaming the staff and take Time to listen.
