    Advice to Management

Need to figure out better growth strategy.

    Pros

Wonderful people to work with, very collaborative and really passionate about what we do. Infectious passion about video quality, latest technology and future trends.

    Cons

Some folks are very opinionated which in extreme cases and hinder execution and is not good for the company. Engineering rules. Some "we have always done it that way" attitudes are very annoying.

    Advice to Management

Value all functions across all departments and introduce healthy change management.

I worked at Harmonic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hard to come up with any pro's.

    Cons

Morale is very very low. Upper Management does not engage with individual contributors or separate organizations. Most of the upper management has been there well over 15 years and seem to put very little effort in trying to keep up with the rest of the industry. A day doesn't go by that you won't hear someone say, "Well, we've been doing it like that for years and it seems to work". There is very little, almost NO support from IT for developing new processes. Tools provided are very old and out of date. Projects sit for a very long time. Some just fall off the list with no explanation.

    Advice to Management

Come down out of the clouds and talk to some of the individual contributors. Lots of them have wonderful ideas.

    Pros

If you want to make an impact, meet with leaders at the senior and executive level, this is the place to be. Very open and inclusive environment where c-level leaders welcome input from everyone.

    Cons

People wear a lot of hats which makes them very busy. But never too busy to help out when needed. Culture is split between newer people who want to change and more experienced employees who want things to stay the same and see no need to change.

    Advice to Management

Keep the overall strategy in mind at all times!

    Pros

Great place to work at. Decent benefits (medicals, ESPP, RSUs, vacation, discounted lunchs), Good management and nice communication during quarterly townhalls.

    Cons

Better communication to Wall Street needed. I don't think Wall street understands their products. Stock price is flat

    Advice to Management

Continue the quarterly communication meetings to employees, and keep the discounted lunches. Try to communicate more frequently to the street.
