I have been working at Harris full-time

    Pros

    -Purposeful products
-Motivated management & great work environment
-Transparency: constant senior management engagement provides great organizational steering
-Investment in preparing and educating employees for positions of greater responsibility: hard work is rewarded

    Cons

-Corporate policies can sometimes feel like a Zero Defect society & cause some unnecessary stress

    Advice to Management

-Square up to some of these "complainers" & put them out to pasture. Lots of young, energetic, and intelligent current employees will gladly out perform those who need help finding the door.

Long hours, but interesting work. Some very difficult customers as well. Will only pay for school if you are enrolled in a program. Will not pay for prerequisite coursework.

I have been working at Harris full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Medium size A&D company with a focus on driving technology allows employees a smaller size and ability to see the results of their work while still having the resources of a large company ($6B revenue).

    Cons

Small size means the company can't do everything everywhere.

I worked at Harris (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company. The proposal team worked very well together in lockstep to meet deadlines. Awesome experience. I would rate this experience as one of the best in a 30-year long career.

    Cons

This was a freelance position through a placement company. The only drawback was that the stint came to an end. Otherwise, it was a great experience with a wonderful team of professionals working together.

    Pros

Get to make a real difference in technology that helps out American servicemen and women. The team environment is really nice, everyone is willing to help.

    Cons

Not the most up to date workplace. You also run into a lot of red tape dealing with the Government.

    Advice to Management

Promote more team orientated projects and have clearer objective of goals.
