    Pros

easy job. brainless thinking!! If you want to be a minion this is perfect for you.

    Cons

No development, no exceptions, chaos daily, they claim standards are high, yet I'm not sure there are standards. They document with no coaching or followup.

    Advice to Management

invest in your people and they may not leave you. Leaving you to have less then 80 turnover in management.

    Pros

    Bonus great medical plan

    Cons

Not all, but most store Directors are clueless and could careless about who punches in or out...they think everyone is replaceable so there is no need to have any concerns or connections with them including their department managers; which they treat awful...district managers are bad also...they will fuss at someone on sales floor in front of customers!!!!

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes...treat the people who take of you with respect...

I have been working at Harris Teeter part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Make close relationships with customers and co-workers, great freebies every month, 10% off of all HT products with employee VIC card discount, 401K, plenty of opportunities to progress in company, good quality products, good starting rate for cashiers (~$8.25).

    Cons

Always under staffed, managers are unappreciative and will use you, extremely underpaid customer service staff, make you do job duties that aren't your responsibilities, don't give you recognition for your hard work, have to pay for entire uniform (shirt: $12,99, buy khakis on your own)

    Pros

    Co-workers, hours, and biannual bonuses.

    Cons

Multiple managers to answer to, content call outs, and "On Call" hours.

    Advice to Management

Make it clear what manager is in charge of which area of the store. An employee shouldn't have to guess who they should go to get something done.

I have been working at Harris Teeter part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It used to be my co-workers, but all but 3 of the original team have left. Soon to only be 2 left. The 10% discount of HT products. The free HT items we get every month. The 2 profit sharing checks per year.

    Cons

Firstly, lack of work hours. You will be lucky to get 10-15 per week. More likely 6-10. There are no baggers who actually bag, they are working in the lots or sweeping the floor. You get monitored for not making the scanning quota, which you can't attain if you have to do your own bagging. If you go to help out a store in need, you don't get mileage from home, but from your home store. If you help out and work the night shift, you will not get the shift differential because you were not hired for 3rd shift, even though you are doing the same thing during the same night hours.

    Advice to Management

THE CUSTOMER IS 'NOT' ALWAYS RIGHT. Treat your employees like a customer.
