I worked at Hart & Cooley full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of work to be done. Worked 10-15 hours of overtime a week (was explained to me before I was hired that this was expected of the position.) Benefits were average.

    Cons

No MRP in a manufacturing environment. I was shocked by this one. Constantly scrambling for inventory. Very weak company culture. No work life balance.

I worked at Hart & Cooley full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good coworkers and stable.
Good name in industry and they have the resources to develop new products.

    Cons

Constantly changing management and direction. Not the best for pay. This may of gotten better with the acquisition by Johnson controls, or worse.

    Advice to Management

Stick to your core values, not only on product offering but also on your core sales channels, and core competencies on manufacturing capability.

I worked at Hart & Cooley full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Community of people, lots of social opportunities for networking, quiet and respectful office professionals. The President and the Human Resources team at the time of my employment was approachable and super understanding. I hope it remains the same today.

    Cons

Sometimes too quiet. Gives you time to think about other non-work related stuff.

    Advice to Management

    Don't let employees take advantage!

    Cons

After getting sold and a new management took over, things have changed for worst and company sr management have no power to defend and protect the interest in front of the new management.

    Advice to Management

Understand H&C culture, heard the entire company got sold out once again. Perhaps Johnson Controls will bring back the glory

    Gym membership reimbursement

    Cons

60+ hrs/wk mandatory for some divisions
New payscale well below median for equivalent work elsewhere
Consistent skirting of any number of workers' rights legalities.
Constant imposition of new regulations that seem hellbent on driving workers out of the company.
A good number of the managers, particularly in flexduct, are entirely apathetic about the needs of both employee and employer, and will often outright ignore either.
Required to handle caustic substances without recommended PPE
Harmful disorganization in HR on a level hitherto unseen by myself.

    Advice to Management

    Review your staff's competency levels.
