I worked at Harte Hanks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job itself is not hard it's very easy to catch on by week 2 to 3 you should have it down packed. But the training won't help you any so be prepared to learn by being on the phones.

    Cons

    1. Management isn't consistent with any rules.
    2. If your looking for a job that works with you as far as school it's out of the question.
    3. They have the worst turnover.
    4. People get hired , fired and quit left and right.
    5. They only care about you if your in a management position.
    6. The training has nothing to do with the actual job.
    7. Managers are never on the same page.
    8. It's a very drama filled environment everyone there is in drama even the managers/supervisors they especially get in your personal life.

I just feel like the job all together is a joke. If your looking for a job that's a fun environment that pays good and you can have good relationships with management this is not for you. The job itself may not be hard but everything else is. It's not worth everything that comes with it trust me you won't get paid enough at all.

    Everything is just too crazy!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Start caring about the people that work for you. Stay consistent with rules every manager needs to be on the same page. Hold managers accountable for their actions just like everyone else.

    Pros

Great mid level people. Some of the hardest working individuals I have ever met at this level. A team one could only wish to manage. Can't say enough good about the "worker bees" ie the people producing on client expectation. Talent that is completely wasted at this dump.

    Cons

Century link executives have taken over and are replacing extremely talented workers with offshore robots. Client work is severely degrading and many a time, severely outside of acceptable practice within a publicly traded company. I have seen extremely talented individuals let go as a result of extremely irresponsible individuals having more influence than warranted. The CEO has no idea what the actual work is on any individual account and wants you to be accountable for her knowledge; this individual is more concerned with her perceived public image and tag lines through awful quarterly newsletters than actually being on the floor trying to make a difference. This is sinking ship, only take the job if you need money. Executives are striking it rich at the expense of people's lives; they should be ashamed of themselves. Don't be surprised when they are sued and put out of business for dealings that certain governing agencies would be very interested in being privy too.

    Advice to Management

Resign and let people who actually care about local the economy, producing great products and creating real accountability, take the reigns. You are destroying people's lives for your benefit only.

    Pros

It's indoors. Not much room for growth. Great stepping stone if you plan on moving on. Many people that can be used as a reference.

    Cons

Lack of information when in training could be improved on. Otherwise you learn most when you are on the floor.
