I worked at Harvard Management Company full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, free health care, good work/life balance

    Cons

People at the top are complacent and only care about own comp

    Advice to Management

Reward employees based on merit and allow more room for promotion. Establish a strong culture where employees feel like they belong.

I worked at Harvard Management Company full-time

    Pros

Very generous benefits, great staff, good mission (benefiting the university and its endeavors). Good Work/Life balance

    Cons

Limited opportunities for career growth, significant CEO turnover (4 different CEO's in last 4 years), low employee moral after years of minimal investment returns, compensation is low compared to peers (somewhat offset by generous benefits, but still low).

    Advice to Management

New CEO and management team have a lot of their plate, from generating increased returns on investment to increasing a demoralized employee base

Talented and intelligent people and great benefits

    Cons

Senior leadership is very hesitate to accept change or innovation and is out of touch with the employees who do the day to day operations work. Management is very top heavy. The environment can be very tense and hostile.

The work can be a little bit monotonous depending on what department you work in. However this is true for any company.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing with intern. It is very important for them to feel like they are part of the company.
