    Positive Outlook

I worked at Harvard Management Company (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great place for an intership. Lot of communication. They also offer "Lunch and Learn" during which you can exchange with top level executives and PMs.

    Cons

The work can be a little bit monotonous depending on what department you work in. However this is true for any company.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing with intern. It is very important for them to feel like they are part of the company.

Interesting work, when management agrees, single purpose is clear, decent pay

    Cons

No focus, can't trust hr, petty squabbles, fiefdoms. Buries their head in the sands of long past glory

I worked at Harvard Management Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy to get to, the people are nice, 100% health and dental benefits

    Cons

Way too bureaucratic, pay is below standard, long hours, HR is two-faced, lots of backstabbing. Very high turn over rate due to lots of disgruntled employees and company not meeting its benchmarks or being relatively flat. There is also very little room for growth careerwise.

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse and reward people based on their performance.

I worked at Harvard Management Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great people! (family feel)
    Smart and fun team.
    Family friendly.
Your voice is heard at all levels.
The company Mission is real and felt on a daily basis!

    Cons

Turnover. However, not because people dislike the organization and want to leave. It is due to the headhunter calls that start after about six months of starting. You can push off those opportunities for only so long.

    Advice to Management

The senior management team was truly great! The next level down could be competitive towards each other.
