    Pros

Great compensation (for me anyway), others routinely complained about their salary. There is a good work/life balance. The Company is also invested in the community and encourages employees to volunteer, with paid time off. Low stress environment.

    Cons

Gossip. Non-stop gossip. I learned more than I ever wanted to know about some people without even asking. Management is out of touch with the work that the people they manage actually do. This was a major problem for me. Also Manager was passive aggressive and would discuss my performance with my colleagues before addressing them with me first. Definitely created an environment of distrust. Company is behind on technology and not very open to new ideas. Paralegals are seen as administrative staff, and not treated as professionals. MICROMANAGING.

    Pros

The people here are smart and hard working. The work is interesting and meaningful. Good benefits package - generous vacation, sick time, and 401K match. Good emphasis on work-life balance.

    Cons

Grant funded work can be unpredictable and makes it difficult to purchase things or get training for anything that's not directly related to a specific grant. The career path can be difficult to figure out. Somewhat high turnover because from overwork or because the work was not what the person expected when joining. Pay could be higher.

    Pros

Most people working here are very friendly and collaborative. Flexible hours are great.

    Cons

Recent changes in the management have changed the culture of the company completely. Hardworking is not recognized anymore and a lot of great people left the company. There's discrimination against minority employee.

RUN from an offer if you are under 40 and have some motivation and/or creativity left

    Pros

I was never stressed Community service focus Flexible schedule

    Cons

Many employees have been at the company for 10 or 20+ years. You might think that's a good thing when applying, but day to day it was a problem. A favorite refrain was 'but this is the way we've always done it!' People who have been there for 10+ years have no incentive to change. People are used to the same responsibilities year in and year out so they resist new ideas or technologies - even if it would make their job easier. There is a clear divide between lifers, long-time employees, and newbies. You are treated like a second class citizen when you are a 'new' employee, even if you have been there 3 years (like I was). If you aren't 50 with kids it is hard to relate to colleagues. If you are looking for a company to put in a few stress free years and then retire, you could be a great fit. If you are a dreaded millennial or innovation seeker you will feel like you are banging your head against a wall. They will not understand your need to improve their antiquated systems and procedures. Save yourself the trouble.
