I worked at Hasbro as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work culture definitely factors in having fun
Huge volume of product means lots of experience fast
Opportunities to get involved in passion projects
    Nerd Heaven
    Lots of extracurricular
Focused product teams makes the 5,200 employee company feel small

    Cons

    Cube farms
Bad interior lighting in a lot of places
Not a considerable amount of freedom developing new product for existing lines
    "make it pink" sentiments

    Advice to Management

Start an inquiry on how to better address problematic toy conventions and play patterns and allow a plan to be proposed that would make Hasbro a leader in progressive play Millennial Parents value instead of being slowly reactive to their criticisms. Hasbro has a lot of diversity on staff; consider hiring more women or minorities or LGBTQ members to more leadership roles such as heading up an inquiry like this.

I worked at Hasbro as a contractor

    Pros

Working within the toy/games industry. Many creative minds and personalities come together to form a unique work environment.

    Cons

Being a contract player isn't great. I was told that I'm disposable and used mainly as a rendering workhorse. Additionally, other teams within the company have ownership issues over projects, despite being a part of the same corporate family.

    Advice to Management

Contract employees (and interns) should be treated with respect.

    I worked at Hasbro full-time

    Pros

Half Day Fridays, onsite Gym, cool Toys around the office

    Cons

Incompetence in Management. There are many managers around the company that really should not be managers.

    Advice to Management

Please try to promote more people based on skill set not just likeability or politics

I worked at Hasbro full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, HALF DAY FRIDAYS!

    Cons

Some middle managers tend to be disorganized

    Advice to Management

Great company with good culture, pay, benefits. Work environment can be challenging depending upon reporting structure (true at most companies). Overall a great place to work with dedicated employees who enjoy what they do and do it well.

I worked at Hasbro as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The people are great
The space is amazing (filled with life sized toys and figures)
Hasbro knows how to treat its employees: early summer Fridays, premieres to movies, company-wide events

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth depending on the department (employees are happy so there's not a lot of turnover)

I worked at Hasbro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

HASBRO is an amazing place to work. Half day Fridays are every single Friday, and sometimes you get to skip 2 hours of work to go see a movie that Hasbro has toy licenses with. This isn't really a pro or a con, but since Hasbro offers so many great benefits, it's harder to move up the ladder. No one wants to leave Hasbro so you find yourself stuck in the same position for many years until something elsewhere opens up for you! Don't let this discourage you though... Hasbro is worth it!

    Cons

My only con would be with the department I worked in... Management was inept and lacked any sense of professionalism. They were an embarrassment to the company, and other departments looked down upon you because of your managers' unpreparedness and lack of respect.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the complaints of your employees when they say Managers are doing worse than better for the department.

I worked at Hasbro as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Hasbro is an amazing company - great hours, and generally a group group of people. If you went to a top 20 college, you would be in the minimum at the company - it's no frills and they hire hard working staff.

    Cons

Tough to be a freelancer or contractor here. Hasbro loves to hire temporary staff so they don't pay out stocks or benefits, so it is really rare to get hired full-time. Some people love temporary work and the flexibility it entails, however, I worked a few contracts here and never saw that turn into a full-time role for myself, or any of my peers.
