    “I Have A Bad Feeling About This…”

    Pros

    - We make toys. - People love toys. - Hasbro’s Global Day of Joy is an incredible company-wide initiative. - Most of the people here are pleasant and want what’s best for the company.

    Cons

    - The new senior leadership team is not transparent, despite their claims to be. - We just had huge layoffs of full time employees and now they’ve gone and fired all the contract workers too. Who do they think is going to do the work? - People are overworked and underpaid, unless they’re in senior leadership. - Mixed messages about priorities. The focus is on “fewer, bigger, better” but still feels like everything is a #1 priority. - Employee burnout is talked about ad nauseam but no one actually does anything concrete to help alleviate workload.

    Good perks, bad morale

    Pros

Half day Fridays year round, 20 days PTO plus generous company holidays (week off between Christmas and New Year’s), get to work with some really kind and talented individuals

    Cons

Really low company morale after several significant lay offs, work demands do not change in spite of losing team members, promotions are incredibly hard to come by so growth is nearly impossible even if more is asked of you

    Get me out of here!

    Pros

Week of Christmas off. 4 weeks PTO is great but no longer cutting edge for the industry.

    Cons

After some brutal layoffs, our team now has to absorb all those positions with no end in sight. Initially, temps and contractors were supposed to soften the blow, but they were all just laid off too! Really not sure where to go from here. Doing 400% of the work I was hired for with no promise of any raise/promotion/bonus. The company is hemorrhaging cash and is willing to knock anyone out in order to appease shareholders. NOT a pleasant reality to be clocking in for every day.

    It’s a Hot Mess

Nov 14, 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Pawtucket, RI

    Pros

The people are some of the greatest you’ll find in any industry. Good 401k match but the rest of the benefits are far below industry standard.

    Cons

Frequent layoffs where the best talent is often let go without reason, which not only kills the moral and spirit of those left, but also doubles or triples their workload. The current senior management team is an absolute disaster, and is leading the company to failure. I would not recommend Hasbro until there’s a new CEO and President.

    Absolute Disaster. Fake Culture.

    Oct 24, 2022 - Marketing

    Pros

Leaving the company. A few great people that work there but toxic "bro culture" and leadership decisions lacking real data to support opportunities has crushed employees' spirit.

    Cons

Zero cohesion in leadership direction; priorities constantly shift to chase a delayed execution of another trend that has come and gone. Bros only or female managers that step on other women to get ahead. Leaders are completely out of touch with consumers and it shows.

A steady job, but not recommended for Type A's

    Pros

-Half day Fridays year-round -Generous vacation & days between Dec 25-Jan 1 are considered holiday -Good/Nice people -Fun industry -Led with integrity -Hybrid work schedules -Okay health benefits -Pretty great work-life balance

    Cons

-Career advancement is very difficult; there is no career map or metric based performance reviews to prove readiness for promotion (and even if you do meet performance requirements, promotion may be delayed for various reasons unrelated to you) -Pay is not competitive -New hires are offered higher pay than existing employees for the same job -A lot of people in high level management positions due to tenure (continued to get promoted after maxing their pay scale until reaching a VP level after 20-30 years), which means there are several arguably unqualified people in power -On the flip side of the above, there are some instances where a promotion means very little other than title and pay change; the job is often the same, no major upgrade in responsibilities or decision making power (I suppose some might see this as a pro) -Some groups work harder, not smarter -Very traditional and risk adverse ways of doing business
