I have been working at HauteLook (More than a year)

    Pros

Cool Environment and you can work from home or in office. The office is awesome.

    Cons

Obvious favoritism, changes are talked about but take way too long to be implemented (if ever).

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your Cust Service Reps NEEDS. If they have been a great agent, listen to them if something in their home life has changed. Help them be better, don't shame them for having changes from when they first joined. Act like they matter.

Little help from anyone internally higher up to help advance career or even promote. No room to grow. All upper management is spread too thin to support their staff. No Nordstrom perks unless you get a Nordstrom credit card.

    Pros

Benefits, LGBT friendly, steady work, community feel, management is pretty easy going, hours are good. Very open to people with less experience.

    Cons

Low pay, well below industry standards. Cliques, traffic into and out of Culver City can be a pain, parking sucks.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees more.

I have been working at HauteLook full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a great place to work. Management is empowered to be creative and make change to benefit the company. Staff is empowered to grow their career if they are able to demonstrate their abilities. There is a unique support approach where lower staff can escalate up to Management to get support. Management does what it can to support the front line and ensure teams have what they need to be succesful.
Work/life balance is a motto around here. Management is relaxed. Work hard play hard mentality
Career paths are drawn out with success criteria outlined to get there. Advancements tend to be metrics driven so it's not a political game to get promoted.

    Cons

Entitlement - there are some staff that currently or previously have worked here that want to be handed things that others have worked for. It's a unique situation to watch team members tear others down because of their successes. Overall, this is a positive environment to work in. Most of the negativity I have seen has come from staff that feels they are owed something.

    Advice to Management

Continue using metrics to drive change and reward staff.
