I have been working at Havas Lynx full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There's a lot of potential here and the recent hiring of a new president (for Lynx) may improve things. The office is very nice, colleagues are friendly. There's considerable freedom; hours are flexible and you can work from home. It's a big plus that Lynx is part of a much larger network. There are opportunities to work abroad, for example.

    Cons

Currently Lynx has lost steam due to very little day-to-day involvement on the part of upper management. There's very little support. You're left to float. Delays last months...and months. Turnover is very high.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to get to know the people who work for you. Invest in understanding and improving how teams work together and with clients. It's not enough to hold an occasional all-staff meeting. Communication needs to be ongoing.

Hey there - thanks for taking the time to leave your review. Looks like you're in the New York office, which unfortunately I don't have any influence over - Havas Lynx Manchester is a different company. I've passed your comments on to the team there though as they're really valuable! ...

I have been working at Havas Lynx full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Havas Lynx works with large pharmaceuticals companies that trust Havas Lynx's insight for marketing/growing their business. Our client relationships are strong, full of trust with an allowance for us to provide strong recommendations on growing their business for both Health Care Professions (HCP) and Consumer markets.

    Cons

Negotiate your vacation time for more days. They only give you 13 days in total which includes 5 sick days. In this business you need breaks for mental wellness and rejuvenating, so ask for more.

I have been working at Havas Lynx full-time

    Pros

Working at Havas will make you proud - they do more for employee well-being than any other business I have known and it's lovely to be part of. They constantly develop new initiatives to ensure people perform at their best - feeling valued and appreciated and your development is taken seriously - there is a meaningful and regular review process, informal and formal rewards, and an expert academy to support your continual...

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Havas Lynx full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    • The company is doing exciting things and thinks outside the box. Whilst the CEO does not come across as compassionate, he is a keen business man and has an eye for an opportunity and seizes it which is obviously why he has done so well • The salaries are average, but not underpaid by any respect – also open to negotiation… (on most contract points..) • If you are sociable and like a drink, there are loads of friends...

    Cons

    • Senior managers let themselves down in regards to archaic views about mental health. Whilst they shout a lot about wellness they: encourage long working hours and presenteeism – advising that teams couldn’t receive awards as they left on time, regardless of being the most profitable and do not support people who are dealing with mental health issues, as a manager I was advised to manage them out • You need to consider...

    Advice to Management

You are no longer an SME and it is becoming more and more apparent the level of disparity in which you treat people. You really need to start putting together policies and processes that will be applied fairly and consistently, and distance yourself from the nepotism that has existed. Also look at how your employees are at different stages of their life and their benefits, policies and practices should reflect this to...

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Havas Lynx full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice offices Decent pay. Lots of personal development and social events. Interesting and generally good quality work. Paid overtime.

    Cons

Hight pressure environment. More account managers than designers and developers mean that unreasonable promises are made to customers resulting in stressed production staff. Compulsory overtime without advance notice causes havoc with family life. That's in addition to the compulsory scheduled overtime where work is taken on when they know they don't really have the resources to deliver. Somewhat macho alcohol focused...

I worked at Havas Lynx full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Huge range of disciplines and people with experience surrounding you. Culture, socially, is good.

    Cons

HR is not there for the employees - and by employees, I mean anyone who isn't management. The HR department is only there to protect the brand of Havas, not its people. There are some dinosaurs protected purely by their years-served. If you want support, this is not where you will find it.

    Advice to Management

Pay close attention to those lower on the ladder.

I worked at Havas Lynx full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I spent more than 7 years at Havas Lynx, starting in 2008 as a placement student. Back then it was Creative Lynx and the team was only about 40 odd employees. Lynx was a fantastic place to learn lots of new skills. I was fortunate to work with some fantastic colleagues and really enjoyed the play hard, work hard culture. Lynx social events are amazing. There is great camaraderie within teams, you make some friends...

    Cons

Being a service company, the focus was always on speed, which can sometimes hinder quality. Account management were far too eager to say yes to clients, regardless of feasibility in the timescales required. There was too much pressure to work late as a result of over promising or failing to gauge scope of work before agreeing to time schedules. I think this might be partly the result of taking lots of graduate account...

    Advice to Management

You have a very talented team and great team spirit and you've done really well to keep hold of some of that atmosphere whilst growing almost exponentially at the same time. You invest a lot in your staff and I think you should keep going with that, particularly in training for project management. I would rethink any divisive policies like the bonus system - I now work for a company where all staff receive significant...
