I worked at Haverford College (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    A lot of nice people.

    Cons

Too many not so nice people. Perks are given for sucking up, doing a good job isn't taken into consideration. Some senior staff are horribly mean and two faced. Their so called transition is a means to get rid of those who don't follow the agenda. Unethical practices. To much control going to BM college with a horribly low endowment raises concern - merger

    Advice to Management

Transition to new management - or old management. Go back to letting the students and staff participate in running the school, in reality, not in theory

I worked at Haverford College (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great over all employee Benefits.

    Cons

When management does not like an employee they make up things on employees and tells the manager to make sure that when they do their reviews that they put negative reviews. How can employees have excellent annual reviews and no sick days and no call outs be fired? An employee with a known disability was fired, They are not following the employment laws as they should.

    Advice to Management

    Get qualified management.

    Pros

Student workers at Haverford get paid more than their Bryn Mawr counterparts. We also seem to have more positions available.

    Cons

As a student worker, not much. However, full-time staff workers do not seem to have much communication with administration and upper management. Things are always delayed and changing.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your employees and students, and then be proactive.

I have been working at Haverford College full-time

    Pros

    Consensus is a community ideal.

    Cons

The aim to be inclusive and attentive to diverse points of view can lead to obstruction and manipulation of process.

    Advice to Management

The infrastructure for systems - accounting, maintenance, administrative support - is currently too lean and in spots, broken. Salaries for all staff are sub-par. The College is stingy with staff other than faculty and offers very little in the way of positive feedback.

I worked at Haverford College (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The nicest people you will ever meet work at Magill Library. They totally spoiled me and ruined for post-grad employment because they are so nice and forgiving!

    Cons

The work can be boring and is mostly oriented towards faculty research. But what else do you expect from a work-study job?

    Advice to Management

You are great! Never change! The building needs some major enhancements though.

    Pros

The campus is gorgeous and most of the staff are extremely nice. Awesome holiday time off as well as an amazing benefit package.

    Cons

This college is a very liberal atmosphere. If you are at all conservative, you might have a difficult time.

    -Friendly staff

    Cons

    -it is a little quiet
-little face-to-face interaction with other employees

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Friendly knowledgeable people. Great environment. Effective staff. Get to get out of office often. Paid work lunch. Beautiful campus. Opportunity to learn and grow.

    Cons

Rude students or faculty. Can get busy to overwhelming fast. There are down times where there is nothing at all to do

    Advice to Management

    Keep hiring great staff

    Pros

Excellent bosses, pretty easy going, and good pay. You can really find a job that's a good fit for you.

    Cons

Some of the positions are a lot more intensive than other student positions, but everyone makes the same salary. Students working in low intensity jobs have time to do homework while on the clock. But this is not really a con.
