I have been working at Haworth full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good insurance and vacation/personal time.

    Cons

HR does not have your best interest. Career opportunities are rigged.

    Advice to Management

Make career opportunities more equal. I have yet to see any women get any of the apprenticeship programs even when they are the most qualified.

I worked at Haworth full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great product portfolio and great group of people in the field.
Committed to the sector of commercial office interiors

    Cons

Leadership is totally disconnected from the reality that field sales deal with every day.
Changes to structure and comp plan have not been in the best interest of the members.
Career path seems to consist of being there a long time and knowing the right people, rather than based on ability or potential.

    Advice to Management

Get to know what is happening in the real world, rather than in Holland Michigan. Haworth has some great people out there, but they are disillusioned with a lack of engagement, or desire to be heard,

Family owned and very warm company. Privately-owned. The corporate culture is wonderful. The leadership believes in transparency and being helpful. They pay sales people very well and have wonderful benefits and incentives.

Haworth has a lot of irons in the fire and can be a little difficult to navigate. Luckily there are alot of wonderful people to point you in the right direction.

    Pros

Large employer in a small city offers many opportunities, promote from within, good benefits, great values when adhered to

    Cons

Not enough oversite of lower/mid management. Great values/principles mean nothing if they are not enforced down the ranks.

    Advice to Management

Train managers on appropriate/legal response to various types of employee requests/situations. Do more polling of employees' feedback on their manager's effectiveness and ACT accordingly. Critique a manager's crucial decision fairly before allowing them to take action that negatively impacts the position of a quality employee. Get rid of ineffective managers. Require managers to be accountable for their actions and their responsibility vs. only criticizing the employee.
