    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham part-time

    Pros

Friendly coworkers and supervision. Flexible schedule. Pleasant atmosphere.

    Cons

Minimum wage. Even though there is a flexible schedule some weeks there are either too many hours or not enough hours scheduled. Computer training is non existent and necessary for front desk positions.

    Cons

Work in rain. Work in heat. Only one 30 min break. Not enough pay

    Advice to Management

Need better executive manager. Needs to learn how to communicate with workers better

    Pros

Get to meet new people, work by yourself.

    Cons

Rude guest, not enough supplies, people calling out

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees equally. Don't try and be best friends with employees.

I worked at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Taught numerous things, laid back work environment. Fun games to sell rooms and reward if you met the max sell for that day!

    Cons

Managers talking about past employees badly, fighting with current employees allowing anyone to work at whatever area of the hotel instead of keeping whoever was hired for that position to stay in that position..

    Advice to Management

Being new is hard, but be more of a professional new.

I worked at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham (Less than a year)

    Pros

There Was Nothing Good About This Job..

    Cons

The Managers Talk So Badly About The Employees And They Don't Train You For The Job They Hire You For, So Basically They Expect You To Know Things That They Said They'll Train You For. Also They Only Pay 7.50 With No Raises

I have been working at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Yearly pay raises, sick pay, bereavement pay for immediate family members, Christmas parties

    Cons

No possibility to move up, "slap in the face" pay raises (but it is a pay raise), HORRIBLE health insurance, favorites have set schedules

    Advice to Management

Be more fair ALL THE TIME to EVERY employee and don't "forget" about the employees.

    Pros

Good entry level position that would be great on a resume if looking to further your career in hospitality. Smaller scale hotel so able to manage on your own

    Cons

No benefits, no PTO or holidays or room to advance. At this location, only one person worked at a time to manage entire hotel, housekeeping staff, breakfast, pool area, reservations, etc.

    Advice to Management

Seek more involvement from supervisors, give comparable raises when promoting from within

    Pros

They are flexible with part time.

    Cons

There is only one person ever at the front desk. This is hard when the Front Desk has to leave to run an errand for a guest or check on the status of clean rooms. Recently they changed management and things have gotten a little better but still understaffed. They are flexible but when I was working there I got called to see if I could fill in, a lot.

Direct contact with employee( general manager and supervisor ) and respect for each and every employer
