I have been working at Hay Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A lot of good people, respectful and professional climate. Great benefits, decent pay, and flexible schedule as long as work gets done. Very focused on client success. CEO comes across as a strong leader with good business sense and communications skills.

    Cons

Poor infrastructure creates extra work. Senior management is smart but leaves line managers and staff to make their own way for long stretches of time without meaningful support. Obsessive focus on the market is great but has been at the expense of maintaining positive climate for employees.

    Advice to Management

Becoming part of Korn Ferry will be a huge short-term challenge to the firm. If you want specific people to stay, even for a short time to help with the transition, tell them that, and show you're willing to support them. And start leveraging KF's infrastructure ASAP.

I worked at Hay Group (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    New building with newer technology
Generous vacation time / Great 401K
    Slightly above average benefits
Good people to work with (non-management)

    Cons

Work hard and the reward are threats from ignorant management associates.
Clueless President who is running the company into the ground by getting walked on by other team members.
Anti-American. Truly is. If you aren't based in the UK then you will always be behind the 8-ball.

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate what your employees did for you...and instead of laying people off try getting them involved in new roles.
