I worked at Haymarket Media Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good stepping stone for media industry and good benefits.

    Cons

Not moving with digital trend. Lack of senior leadership. Minimal training. At the moment they are downsizing. No set job description for who will do what for some tasks. Commission was never accurate.

    Advice to Management

Have set job tasks so employees know who to ask for help all across the board. Have top down and bottom up reviews to ensure everyone is satisfied with work. Use technology effectively for business use.

I have been working at Haymarket Media Group full-time

    Pros

You'll work in a friendly environment with some very talented, hard-working colleagues. A good place to learn. Most managers allow their staff a great deal of autonomy. Many smaller perks, such as free coffee and Friday breakfasts, and an excellent amount of starting vacation time.

    Cons

Regardless of your stated responsibilities at hiring, expect your workload to grow exponentially without commensurate pay increases. Salaries are below market average. Unpaid weekend work has steadily increased over the last several years and the burnout rate in some departments is high. Those in the trenches often experience little job advancement over years while other select individuals are promoted with great frequency. Hard work often goes unrecognized.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a competitive wage. Update the outdated technology in use, so employees have the tools to succeed. Recognize good work not just from the top down, but from the bottom up. Continue to foster a friendly environment, and encourage all managers to be more open-minded to ideas other than their own.

    Pros

Snacks, 3 weeks vacation time to start. A few nice people, but depending on your team, it might not be so great

    Cons

This place is run by a few individuals who think very highly of themselves. Critiques are met with defensive responses, and everyone does what it takes to make sure they aren't to blame. Not a collaborate environment. Salary significantly below market.

    Pros

    Not many - free coffee?

    Cons

Everyone has way tooooo much on their plates. Very "corporate" and the different departments are like high school cliques. If someone feels threatened by you they will be sneaky, go behind your back and spread lies and rumors just to make themselves "feel" important.

    Pay is terrible.

Not a lot of oversight so if you're doing something wrong you won't hear about it until something explodes.

I worked at Haymarket Media Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The breakfast Fridays are great, good snacks. Nice new modern office. Health Benefits are at a low premium compared to other companies. Overall benefits are decent.

    Cons

Can't speak for all departments but my department lacked on various accounts. Communication was poor between managers and employees. Extreme lack of training, questions are supposedly encouraged but generally not answered. The concept of team or teamwork is nearly nonexistent. Obvious nepotism. Due to this disorganization, it is a challenge to truly accomplish work and one might over exert themselves. Very high turnover. Individuals are either layed off or leave because of tarnished corporate culture and overall feeling of uncertainty.

    Advice to Management

Establish more organized onboarding and training processes. The systems and processes are unique. Rid of the nepotism and support the team and Improve company culture to foster a positive environment.
