I worked at Hayward Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with in IS were terrific. There can always be one bad apple, but nothing is perfect.

    Cons

The culture is very old and in spite of attempts to change it, resistance prevails and much of that resistance comes from upper management.

    Advice to Management

While I do my job well, I shouldn't presume to tell others how to do theirs. BUT the common theme in all management is that they don't have time to learn computing. My response has always been, if time spent learning how to use the tools you have make you more productive and save you time, it's time well spent. One of my favorite phrases is, "If the only tool you have is a hammer, then every problem becomes a nail." Solution: Get and LEARN the right tool for the job.

I worked at Hayward Industries full-time

    Pros

Excellent training program, real since of belonging with fellow employees across the country. Wonderful perks and benefits, enjoyed the chance to go out into my territory every day and meet new people.

    Cons

Regional supervisors can be difficult to work with, often their goals can differ vastly from the corporate vision. In the end it is all about the budget, how much did you sell and how much did you save the company.

    Advice to Management

A united front would help to align the goals and implement the corporate goal. Each region is operated as an individual entity the can create a conflicting environment.

    Pros

The company provided good benefits as well as a large amount of time off. A bonus is offered in addition to standard pay.

    Cons

The pay was below industry standard and the bonus is somewhat inconsistent. There is not a lot of mobility in the company

    Advice to Management

No advice here. Keep doing what you are doing. The leadership at the company is quite good and cares about employees.
