I have been working at Hayward Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn and grow

    Cons

Period of transition to a more accountable organization, which can create a bit of angst for some employees....especially longer-serviced employees.

    Advice to Management

Actively solicit input from employees, listen to their feedback and take definitive action in a way that employees can further appreciate the value they bring to the organization.

I have been working at Hayward Industries full-time

    Pros

Nice people. Good salary. I think the company has potential, as long as management continues working on making it more progressive. Lots of lifers are being phased out to make way for new people with new fresh ideas...hope it continues going in the right direction. Salary seems good.

    Cons

The company is in a transition phase...was run like a small mom and pop but since they have been bought out it seems like it could be heading in a better direction -- more modern and progressive. They definitely need to work on product R&D...WAY too many product launch delays, it can be very frustrating. Health benefits can be better (not the worst I've seen but room to improve)

    Advice to Management

Management can be difficult -- depending on your dept you might be micromanaged.

I worked at Hayward Industries full-time

    Pros

Very decent people up and down the line. Not too much change since being bought out by investors. Tenure is very possible there. New people seem to be taken into the fold rather easily.

    Cons

Not a tremendous amount of support or concern for the bread and butter manufacturing line workers. HR policy regarding workplace & sexual harassment not in step with the times. Typical obtuse business and personnel decisions made because it is a private company. Below-industry pay scale-but typical in that area.

    Advice to Management

Do an anonymous Survey Monkey to find out what people really think. For example, there's one junior engineering manager who's entire group thinks of him as a dimwit, and promoted due to favoritism. Create some sort of management training so people look at here boss with some measure of respect. More than a few people spinning their wheels or not really understanding what they're doing or their actual goal. The time-to-market for products leaves them very much lagging behind competition with respect to innovation-for Hayward new and improved seems to be thinking 3 years in the past.
